The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

No, but I bet one of them either has a master bath with it or it would be near one... 5 Bedrooms - 3½ Bathrooms

Well, maybe the KC deal will work out after all. This will NOT involve any
cut in pay I hope..... not to be nosy or anything, but I've seen some of that going on in industry around here.
I'm still saying mini-moot at 2J's house soon after you move. That should get Steve's feet wet enough that he'll either tell her they can stay at the castle or NO WAY IS SHE GOING ANYWHERE NEAR FLORIDA IN JANUARY.

A tarp is a good idea! I wish I had thought of that just prior to the Iraq war when we were getting inundated with helicopters flying over...

Heh - If you don't pass, we will just start going down the list! I am only sortof appointing you because you are local, though I know that doesn't really matter.
I am sure, since the money is collected up front anyhow, that the bar for passing is not that high.

Maybe you could find a tarp done up as a flag.I betcha SOMEONE even sells something like that. You can get almost anything with a flag on it these days!
To: RosieCotton
Can't get this at fiddle camp....

Rosie, it's calling to you.......

If we get 10-12 interested, I could send the money right away, and we could split that.

Rosie, it's calling to you.......Now THAT'S cruel!

How soon can we come up $535 dollars to get this ball rolling? Divided how many ways? I can put up my share in the next week or so...or whenever everyone else can...
(unless my share is $534...)

Maybe you could find a tarp done up as a flag. Hmmmm....gives me an idea. I have to replace the tarp cover on the boy's fort...

From the description, (two living rooms and two kitchens) it sounds like at one time it was two residences, like a home with a mother-in-law apartment.
To: RosieCotton; Sam Cree
Maybe you could find a tarp done up as a flag.Sam would know about that!! Didn't he used to make signs?? I'd want one that said "God Bless American and the military Helicopters!"

A tarp is a good idea! I wish I had thought of that just prior to the Iraq war when we were getting inundated with helicopters flying over... Why? Are their droppings really hard to clean up?

Okay, the credit thing. I don't know much at all about credit, I was nervous about it buying my house so the realtor was concerned too. And then when I tried it out the lender told me I have the 2nd best credit of any single woman that he'd ever seen. Okay, I don't really make a lot of money so that it would look like I could pay for something like this and my limit on my credit card is not much because I try to pay it off every month, but, if we have to I could try it with mine. I just don't know if it would fly for that much money though. It wouldn't be in my budget but I'm not thinking those credit rating people understand budget quite the same as I do.

Don't make it too long a message, I would hate for them to crash trying to read all of it!
To: Overtaxed
Okay, so how would I attach the tarp to the roof so it didn't blow up into Tulsa? Winds have blown down 3 trees in the last year. So what would hold a tarp up there?
if i get a flag tarp 2j can't borrow it the first week.

If we need to I could send a tenth of that deposit now. I don't think I could come up with more this month though.

I'm guessing they're looking at credit score, not how much credit you could get. And, like Hair said (or was it ksen?), if we have the cash up front for the deposit, that shouldn't be a problem, especially since we have to pay the rent in September or October.
Here's the question ksen...if we got to the place where we had to back out, when could we do that and how much would we lose? I'm guessing that right now it would be just the $35 application fee. But the closer we get, the more we would lose.
