The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

There's a $2,000 deposit and a $35 application fee along with a credit check. So we'd need to find the person with the best credit to fill out the application.
Check out is by 10:30pm she said. I also asked about the Saturday to Saturday deal and she said the property owners like that but it is not necessary. We could do a Thursday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Tuesday.

Can we raise the $2035 for the deposit by the end of May?
To: Corin Stormhands
I can chip in towards the deposit, but my credit is not the one we should use. *blushing*

I hear ya sis. I wouldn't put my name on the app either, but if there is anyone else willing to be the front-Hobbit for the app please volunteer either here or via FReepmail.

At least 2 of us, likely 4, as I think the kids will be in town. That probably means 2 rooms for us. I have to check their academic calendars, though.
Corin, I am OK with you moving the moot forward one week, if you want to :-D

I know that you and your family will be staying at your own place during Entmoot, so that leaves...

I gonna try to get my sister to come.

Did you ask him about limits on how many people could be crashed there? - I don't mind sleeping on floors and couches and airbeds... Families perhaps could be given the bedrooms and the singles can crash where ever - but he may have an opinion on overstuffing the place.
To: RMDupree
Mrs. Stormhands is probably NOT coming. That may change. But she'll be going with me to an alumni board meeting in Kentucky later that month. We probably won't want to leave Luke with family two weekends in the same month.
(the de-briefing takes far too long...)

Man! We need to rent out an inn and have the common room to ourselves! LOL!

Oh, I just figured out that we are talking a house instead of a hotel, scratch that about rooms then.

I hear ya! Babysitting is hard to come by and twice in one month can be downright impossible!

I could bring a tent and sleep in the dunes....

Ruthy, I think there are likely to be 4 Crees, both of my kids are likely to be home then.

Well, at this point we are seeing if we can swing the house. To get the house we will have to pool money and send it right away.... I am willing. The more committed we are early, the more sure it will be of actually happening!
To: HairOfTheDog
The lady said it's advertised at 12 but we could really fit a whole lot more in there if we needed to. So I didn't ask anymore questions about that and didn't volunteer anymore info. ;^)

OK - as long as they aren't really worried about it! :~D
What do you think? - Is this location good for ferrying to the theater and near enough to your home?
To: RMDupree
Finding someone to take care of him isn't the problem. If my sister-in-law doesn't have a work conflict (which she usually doesn't on weekends) we can farm him out to her anytime.
Problem is all the "cute" things they teach him. I've had to resume visits to the chiropractor because everytime we drive under a bridge we all have to "duck."
After spring break I told my wife we have to either lay down the law with them or limit their time with him.
To: HairOfTheDog
I bet there are several of us who wouldn't mind the camping part. As long as there is access to indoor plumbing...
Ah, what the heck...
