The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I have to go too.... need to go to town in a bit for horse food.

Maybe you can make it big in some fly-by-night pyramid scheme.Maybe I can sell gen-yoo-wine Vermont cow manure or something on eBay? Tourists seem to buy just about anything...
Only 258 to go.......should I?......yeah! yeah!........no. no........yes!......no! don't!.....just wait a liiiiiiiiiitle bit longer......

I guess we will need a final headcount by October / November in order to secure a January reservation. What do you think?

I guess we will need a final headcount by October / November in order to secure a January reservation. If we want to be choosy, I think we need to look for it much sooner than that.

I was trying to be exceedingly optimistic! LOL!
Truth is, we should have a solid count (or as close as possible) by August. :)
I'm still in love with the one you found, Corin. 2 kitchens, a 55" TV in the living room, pool table, heated pool, wooden deck overlooking and leading to the beach....WOW!!!

I think it's a great house. And we couldn't do much better in ONE facility anyway. I'm willing to consider sleeping on a couch or the floor.
Best part is, that one (or one like it) has all the other amenities we need.

Yeah, I'm with Corin. We need to know in August how many people are coming. This shouldn't bar any latecomers but it will allow us to do what needs to be done in order to secure that castle for the week.
Let's see, the TTT DVD comes out 8/26. How about we have that as the date to let us know by? The airfare should be able to be found out by then as well.

Yeah, I'm with Corin. I just wanted to see that again. Moments like these are rare.

The big TV and heated pool are great, but the clincher for me is that deck! It's got built-in bench seating and a great backdrop for pics!
Flat Frodo would look absolutely perfect ending his journey by the sea!

I just spoke with the property manager of Coulter Castle and it is already booked up for most of the winter months but there is still an opening for when we'd need it. There is a family that will be out of there on 1/3/04 and we could get it after that.
However, we'd need to move fast to get it. It may even be that way with any beachside property.

So ksen - do you think that the Coulter Castle is a 90% possibility for Entmoot?

What's the deposit needed again?
And when would "check-out" be? If they're out on 1/3 is it a Saturday to Saturday deal?
To: ksen
Oops! I posted before I saw your latest post!
WOW! We'd better get cracking then on the headcount. Count 2 people in my party please!

Probably not by August. Then again that could just be the property manager trying to sell me. I think if we really want to get it we'd need to act by the end of May, and that's just a guess.
