The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Is the auditor gone? For the moment. I guess she got tired of watching columns drip. She'll be back for the next step.

I positively hate credit card debt. We only use it in emergencies...like the car breaking down or something, when we need to pay for something expensive. Yep, that's my ultimate goal. For awhile I would use it and pay immediately, just to get some credit history - though I don't understand credit rating well enough to determine if that would actually work! All I know is that when I bought my house, I had to get letters from all kinds of people who I'd paid money to over long periods (landlords, phone company, ISP, etc.) to make up for my not having any credit history due to not buying stuff unless I had the money.
I guess I sort of understand the logic, but it's frustrating that being responsible means it's HARDER to get loans if you really need one!

The chair is against the wall...no wait. That's not it.
The check is in the mail. Yeah, that's what I meant to say...

Hullo! - Good morning! [sip] I slept in like a sloth.
I am gonna send you money for new packages as soon as I get paid! The packages are gonna be late! - They are out of stuff now!

I forget how long you've been in your house. But your mortgage will take care of establishing your credit rating. We get an average of three new credit offers (credit cards, refinance, etc.) every day. The other day my wife got three offers from Capital One on the same day. We always take them to my b-i-l who works for Capital One and used to be in charge of that department. He just sighs...

Hey, I've heard this band! Never seen a picture, though. I can't remember whether I liked 'em or not...some of the Scottish rock bands I like and some are just too out there for my tastes.
But as far as their stage look...guys in kilts...ya gotta love it!

AAAACK! Another Test! Too much pressure!

I guess that explains why I'm now getting offers all the time? Both phone and mail. Capital One seems to be the worst.
I've had my house for a little over a year now...didn't take long for the junk mail to start, though.

Morning Hair!
Thanks for the guys in kilts...it made my morning brighter! *grin*
I'm going to be away for a couple of hours since Becky and I are getting ready to enjoy the cookies. :)
See you all later!

It went amazingly fast, but I knew it would!
Is there a sound clip for this band??? I bet it's something I'd like!

Yeah that's it. The thing that bothers me is that they can all go and get a preliminary look at your credit report too. You have to request individually that they stop.
But we don't even bother opening the offers anymore.
To: Corin Stormhands
Oh, great! I'll keep an eye out.
Matthew is taking a spelling test. I just have to read the words to him.

But we don't even bother opening the offers anymore.Me either. Sometimes I take out the fake cards that sometimes come with 'em (my little sister likes to play with them), but usually they get chucked without a second glance.
I'm more annoyed at the telemarketing aspect. I have caller ID and usually sort them out, but I still find that far more offensive than mail.
To: RosieCotton
Nobody can get through to me...I'm on line all the time! LOL
I take the cards out for Josh too...and sometimes there is a sticker or something. That usually gets stuck on my sliding glass door.

I just did a google search on "off Kilter" to see what would come up! I don't know who they are!
They say they are a "Progressive Celtic Band" whatever that means!
