Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

heh heh heh I still find "strange science" to be fascinating reading.

Unfortunately, the older I get the more things I find to be fascinating reading. And the less time I have to spend reading. It's wrong. I have so many books that I want to read and haven't had time to read. And yet, I bought 11 more on ebay this week.

Yes, we're quite the fans here in the Stormhands household. Got Jr. interested in reading. He's bummed that the next one comes out while he's on choir tour, so he'll have to wait.

We contend with the people in our church who think Harry Potter is evil. We're not allowed to consign any Potter stuff (and there are others) for the children's clothing and toy sale. Just because it would cause a ruckus.

I think my first run-in with RnMomof7 was (under a different screen name) over Harry Potter.

Harmless. Fantasy. Fun. Can't wait.

Texas Stonehenge: Had to search the map. You and Rose ought to take a road trip anyway and get out of town. Go to Kerrville (don't use an interstate) One of the 2 prettiest highways in Texas to ride is Highway 16 between Fredericksburg and Kerrville. From Kerrville you're going to go on Hwy 27 west to Ingram. Continue on that highway and I believe stonehenge is before the fork in the road of Hwy 27 and Hwy 39. It's on the left (south) side of the highway just after you cross a low bridge over a stream and there's a big curve in the road to the left. Stonehenge is in the field surrounded by the river and the curving road.

At any rate, for the other of the 2 most beautiful highways in Texas you should make this an all day drive and continue on down Hwy 39 to Hwy 83 then south to Leakey. From Leakey to Vanderpool Ranch Road 337 is intensely awesome! You just have to go there. It's incredible. You can continue on 337 all the way to Medina actually and hit Hwy 16 going back north to Kerrville again and then you'll have seen the best of Texas.
