Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Help me out here folks. My brain isn't working.
Isn't the cheese/moose dialogue in the credits for The Holy Grail or are there two separate references?
I looked for the script but couldn't find it.

Good nite Sam. Good night moon.
Good nite precious, coming up real soon...
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes, looks like good fishing in Nevada.

I don't know if there are cheese/moose references in Monty Python.... I was curious for the answer when you said it.
I thought the cheese thing just started with "would you like some cheese with that whine?" and just became pictures of cheese in response to whining posts.
I thought the Moose thing came from Lazamataz who I think first said "A moose just bit my sister", but I don't know *why* he said it!
I think the two phrases got combined together because someone put them in a blender.

No, I'm certain the "A moose once bit my sister" is from the credits to
The Holy Grail, just not sure about the cheese part.
Dang it, I was going to bed...let me hit Google one more time...
To: Corin Stormhands
Well, maybe Laz was quoting it! - I have to admit it sounds familiar, in the credits.

That looks like maps put out by various "Earth Changes" groups.
To: HairOfTheDog; Sam Cree
It was the
Opening Credits for the moose reference.
I'm not sure the origin of the cheese phrase. I know the shower reference, and vey series and hugh. Even "All your Base are..."
There's a thread around here somewhere about the power of cheese...

Yes, now if we can only solve the mystery of why I'm up so late again...
g'nite (I'm not even going to sneak for it...)
To: HairOfTheDog; Corin Stormhands
Thanks for tracking that down! One less thing to worry about!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Now if we could only settle that lembas thing...
To: Corin Stormhands
Wait!
- Don't go to bed. I was impulsive and I am now stuck! What is the answer to this question? LOL! HERE
