The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

LOL! Well, I'm too late now. He / She edited the original post and said they were just going to sell them on Amazon or something. Too bad. :-(

I've given myself a headache over this.

I can't for the life of me figure out why so many people associated with the arts have such a love affair with socialism and the Left. It makes me wonder if being artistic requires a "stupid" gene.

You know, I was in drama for years...from junior high up, majored in it on scholarship in college. A lot of things led up to it, but one day it just dawned on me that the vast majority of the people I was associated with were the most brain-dead worthless meaningless people I'd ever met.
I got out of it.
Most of them either dropped out or became psych majors. I hung out for a while, then went to nursing school.
My skin still crawls when I think of it.

The majority of the people I meet at art school are leftists, though with alot of exceptions, since this is Miami, and a good part of the population here (Cubans) escaped from communism or else their parents did.
How anyone can embrace a philosophy that in recent times has been responsible for the deaths of millions is beyond me. It's for the little guy they say, same thing Karl Marx said.

You know, I was in drama for years...from junior high up, majored in it on scholarship in college. Myranda's in her Theater 4 class now. At the old small town school the theater students were the same as her... just good ol' kids trying to get an easy class. (she thinks she was the only one that really wanted theater)
Now, in the big city school she is surrounded by kids she never really though existed before moving here. She is outspoken, therefore comes home many days with stories about her right wing debates with leftist kids. It amuses me. I'm not too thrilled that she's in all this theater stuff, but I'm tickled pink that she's learned to speak up for what she believes.

I've given myself a headache over this. Tea!

"she's learned to speak up for what she believes" Yeah, that is very good. My kids too, luckily.

Trying to psyche myself up to get to work on my website. It's like writer's block. Sometimes you just have to force yourself to keep going even when the "inspiration" isn't there...
And I'm starting to get annoyed that
http://www.the-hobbit-hole.net isn't accessible yet. It is supposed to take up to 72 hours, so any time now. If it still isn't going in a couple days, I'll have to contact tech support, and I hate doing that.

Nothing there. For some reason, I'm not receiving anything sent to corinstormhands. I emailed Yahoo, but just got back a generic response. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Check your freepmail.

The cheese and moose thing is from Monty Python.

Hey, I AM those people! Actually until we got to our present church the Mrs. and I had given up on the drama. I never wanted to do anything professionally nor in community theater. Besides, not being pretty or gay, I didn't have much of chance anyway.
Three guys that were involved in drama at our very conservative Christian college transferred to the University of Kentucky...and came out of their respective closets...

At least I had the diet soda with it. Tsk! Tsk! Those things are FULL of salt. I love Diet Coke, but the sodium man...
Can you get Diet Rite there? I know you can't get it at a restaurants, but in the stores? It has no caffeine, no sugar, no sodium. And it's not bad.
But careful, it's probably loaded with dihydrogen monoxide...
Shall I tell you I'm "lecturing" you whilst finishing off my Venti Starbucks Latte (however, with skim milk...)

Did you guys see this cool map of how North America is supposed to look in the next 10 years that was posted on the earthquake thread?

So, Corin, do I need more details, like what Monty Python movie or anything?
