Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Did it smell good?

Yes! I could smell it even before I picked up the package, and when I opened it, it filled up the whole house!

Tam (my boy kitty) was VERY interested...he'd never seen such a thing, I guess!

I filled up the dispensers in ours last night with it by mistake, decided the h*ll with it and ran the thing anyway, and found a couple cups of water on the floor this morning.

Regular dish soap foams. Dishwasher soap is made not to bubble. The regular dish soap in the dishwasher will sometimes make so many bubbles that it oozes out of the dishwasher. Which would make a puddle of water on the floor by morning.

now how do i know this??????

The beach was great. We got there about 3 in the afternoon. The first thing, well one of the first things we did, was order room service (we've never had room service before), boy was THAT expensive.

Then we walked on the beach, got a beach chair and reclined in it just at the top of the surf and watched the ocean for a while. Then we cleaned up and went out to eat at one of the restaurants on the beach, it was very nice. I was THIS close to ordering a Guiness.

Then we took a dip in the pool about 10:30pm and then went to bed.

Next day we had breakfast at one of those greasy little diners, it was deeelicious. Then we spent the day in Cocoa Village visiting all the little stores. I found copies of "Mote in God's Eye" and the sequel "The Gripping Hand" at a used bookstore for pretty cheap.

All in all it was a good time away from everything. ;^)

One reason I like raising fragrant herbs so much is that I am allergic to humpteen kinds of perfumes, colognes, potpouris (sp), air fresheners and all that. But, mints, lavenders, verbenas and many other fragrant plants don't bother me at all. (some do though) But, that's the only way I can get good smelly stuff without getting aweful allergies.

Does anyone know if putting ordinary dishwashing liquid in a dishwasher instead of dishwasher soap can cause it to flood the kitchen floor?

Oh yes! - I flooded the whole kitchen once! - Dishwashing liquid is way too foamy!

We also found a book with 1,001 Tolkien questions. I was thinking of posting some of those quizzes and see how everyone does. They cover EVERYTHING Tolkien.

I made errors on the gifts! The movie has warped my memory! I guess I need to read the books again! And I forgot about the other gifts for Aragorn. I *knew* there was more, that is why I looked it up, but I forgot how that played out! [kicking myself over that one]
