Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

No. We were painting the pretty blond lady.
Good Morning!
To: Corin Stormhands
Good morning everyone.
Are you back from the gym already?
Been jogging the last week or so too + pushups and sittups. Considering a little weight training.

I've been meaning to tell you...the mint DID arrive on Friday. The leaves were kinda waterlogged, and though I got it planted and all that, they dried up...I THINK I did it right, but...!
In any case, I'm still hoping the roots are fine. I cut off the worse of the dead leaves and I'm giving it time. I have one batch in a pot inside and a big clump outside, next to the house. I'll keep you posted!
On a brighter note, I found at least two tulips coming up along my path! I was beginning to think they were dead...I planted them pretty late in the season last year, and I figured they must not have had enough time to sprout or whatever they do before the ground froze.
To: Overtaxed
Good morning!
Did your instrument stop in the night again?
To: RosieCotton
Morning Rosie.
Does anyone know if putting ordinary dishwashing liquid in a dishwasher instead of dishwasher soap can cause it to flood the kitchen floor?
I filled up the dispensers in ours last night with it by mistake, decided the h*ll with it and ran the thing anyway, and found a couple cups of water on the floor this morning.

Yes!
It's had this problem for a while, we sent it in to the manufacturers for repairs and even they don't know what the problem is: "Just start it up again." Grrrrrrr!
To: Sam Cree
Yes...I think it will. Whenever I've used dishwashing liquid in the dishwasher, I just don't fill the thing up.
To: Overtaxed
Hm. Very helpful, arent' they?
NOT!
To: Overtaxed
Good morning.
Yeah, I filled the things up, both of them, then noticed I had grabbed the wrong container. I am hoping the little flood isn't a coincidence. Perhaps I'll run it once with no soap just to be sure.
Thanks.

if that's enough of a muscle car for you to think about that is.Oh yeah...that'll suffice! lol
Sounds like a real sweet ride...I hope it all works out for you!

Tending to a drunk friend that weighs 1200 pounds tends to keep one from dwelling too much on one's own personal problems!I read this sentence before reading the rest of your post...talk about confusing! ;-) I kept coming back to that "1200 pounds" and thinking...what the hey? LOL!
Seriesly, though, I hope all goes well with Zulu. I know you've put a lot of thought into this decision, and I really don't envy your having to make it. Remember that we're here for ya. Shout if you need anything...hand holding included.

You guys would laugh if I told you the car I'VE been drooling over during the last few days! One of the local used car places just got in a super clean, low milage '98 Toyota Camry. How's that for a boring car? I went and looked at it last night, though I have no right to. I have a little Corolla that has NEVER had problems and does pretty much what I need it to. But...the Camry would fit those younger siblings of mine much easier, plus has a HUGE trunk for instruments, all with familiar, comfy Toyota controls. It's tempting, but I'll probably pull through in the end. I don't NEED it! And I'd go into debt again, even with the generous trade-in they offered. Plus I wuv my car...it's basically my first, and I'd hate to let it go.
To: ItsOurTimeNow
I am not a car nut like you guys, but do like them. Really, I love machinery in general, and man made implements and artifacts. Machines that are used for transportation are about the coolest and most romantic, no doubt about it, I think. Actually, I love my truck, and even Jeanne's car.
Tolkien surely disagrees with me here, though.
If you are walking through the jungle or maybe the backwoods, and find old wrecked cars or cog wheels, maybe an old boiler, these things add to the romance, wonder and ambience of the outdoors, don't you think?
Have always thought I didn't like people too much, but find I am taking pleasure in junk that they leave around.

Steve did the exact same thing a couple of weeks ago. What happened was it foamed out of the machine and got all over the floor. I'm sure if we'd just left the foam, it would have turned back into soapy water.
Running it through another rinse cycle is a good idea. Just to make sure you got all the soap.
Good morning, everyone!

Are you back from the gym already? Ended up not going this a.m. Something about going to bed a midnite and getting up before 5:00 a.m. just didn't click. Plus I have an appointment with a trainer tonite.

What Rosie said: I kept coming back to that "1200 pounds" and thinking...what the hey? LOL! What Rosie was thinking: I kept coming back to that "1200 pounds" and thinking...what the hey Corin's been on a diet...? LOL!
