Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I thought I would drop everyone a note that I too will be gone a few days. I should be back on Friday (barring unforeseen circumstances), so there will likely not be any Daily Tolkien articles but I should be back in time for the next "Tolkien Virgin" article for Friday. So, I will see you all next year! :-)

I'm not sure if I will be able to simulview tonight. I have two of my family down with strep throat and I loaned out my SE discs last week and haven't gotten them back yet. I may drop by the person's house and pick them up tonight.

Better now that Bay has been able to take a pee and have some breakfast! This is such a damp drippy time of year. Horse management is more fun in the summer!

Good morning and Happy New Years Eve to all!
I'm feeling a million times better today after some large doses of chamomile, anise, honey and lemon tea, as well as, Tylenol Allergy and Sinus last night. I'm a happy camper! :)
I'm hoping to work out a plan to where I can go straight to the theatre at 3PM and my sister will cover the kids for me until I get home. In exchange, I will watch my nephew tonight so she can go out. I'm not too sure what Glen's plans are yet - he hasn't really decided. If he goes out, I will definitely be up and ready for simulchat tonight. If he stays home, I'll have to play it by ear so he doesn't feel slighted that I am spending New Years with my Hobbit Hole friends instead of him. It's swaying towards the 90% mark that he will go out though, so for the moment, count me in. I'd prefer a later viewing - maybe 8:30 or 9:00PM EST?
On to breakfast - you guys must be famished!
Bacon, egg and cheese biscuits. Fried ham and sausage patties. Mushroom, ham and cheese omelets are hot and ready to go. Plenty of coffee (Roast Colombian), orange juice and hot tea are on the table next to the plates and cutlery. ENJOY!!
