The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Oh well, maybe I'll actually get to meet him and his lovely family some time this summer! They'd like that. I know g'nad is also planning on coming to Entmoot. Don't know about the rest of the clan. You'd like Mrs. g'nad. She's homeschooling too.
Good luck with the crew. Try to use it as a school lesson for the boys.
You know, things like "this is 'plumber's crack', you should never have 'plumber's crack."
Important life lessons like that...

I'm torn between being mad and feeling sick. Just remember, the dog wouldn't have gotten treatment if you didn't intervene.

LOL!!!!
The other day, when the plumber came over, he got down on his hands and knees to look under my sink. I didn't notice the plumbers crack, but it was all I could do to keep Joshua from clambering up onto the guy's back!

I am hoping that things are going for you as much as you would like them to.
Your spot in Missouri surely looks beautiful and I am quite certain, from the pictures, that you are blessed with a beautiful family, so...good luck moving out there, and good hunting.
Looking forward to seeing you in a week or so.

Hi, Corin.
I like the redbuds in the spring time up there about the best.

Yep. Redbuds, azaleas and dogwoods are in full bloom.

75 degrees at the moment in Miami, sunny.
Most of the pollen is over, though the gumbo limbo trees are just getting fired up on that.

I have read that an ice age may not come in gradually, but more or less all at once, in less than 10 years. I think this is the current thinking among scientists?
Reading a novel at the moment based on that premise...the Greens and environmentalists have eliminated most all the greenhouse effect, resulting in the sudden onset of an iceage.

My azaleas are slackers... Fire 'em. Fire 'em all...
Our azaleas in the front of the house are still recovering their shape (or lack of) from the way the idjits before us trimmed them like boxwoods. I'm having trouble getting the lower branches to fill back in. So I'm just going to go ahead and put my m-i-l's azaleas in front of them.

Hey everyone!
First I'll get out all of the bacon, sausages, fried eggs and hash browns I made and put them on th etable. The coffee is ready too. I know it's nothing compared to WN's spread yesterday, but I am just feeling terrible today.
Sorry I never came in yesterday, but I had to go to court in the morning and then the chest pains I'd been having really got bad where I couldn't breathe well. I went to the hospital because I got a bit scared that maybe I was having a heart attack or something. I didn't find anything out though.
I'm here at work but I am hoping to get an appointment with a cardiologist today so he can look at the results of all of the tests they did yesterday at the hospital. I got so ticked off last night that I signed myself out. I was there for 8 hours and they did 2 EKGs, took 8 vials of blood and did some nuclear heart scan that they inject me with some radioactive stuff first.
Anyway, I was not seen by a doctor and I was left in the frickin hallway for all of the night. My oxygen tank ran out and was left empty for an hour and a half before they noticed and by then I was putting my shoes on. Whatever. If it was anything THAT serious I would have been taken back right away.
So, I still feel lousy. I can't smoke obviously, so my mood is awful. My boss gave me a nicotine patch so that should help. My chest hurts (like a weird pressure on my ribcage) and I have sharp pain everytime I breath in deeply. Horrible!
I'll probably be leaving today early, but I wanted to let you know what was going on.

Good grief Ruthy! Take care of yourself. And, I can't believe I'm saying this (of course I can), but the last thing you need to worry about is feeding the Hobbit Hole.
We'll keep you in our prayers. Let us know when you hear something.
To: RMDupree
Yikes! Don't worry about breakfast for us, then. We're just praying that you'll be all right.
To: RMDupree
Good grief Ruthy! - You in some third world hospital out there? Parked in the hallway? - Hope your doctor calls you back soon, that all sounds scary to me! Whadday doing at work? I think I would have given you today off!

RM, God bless you...I hope that the doctor can determine what happened to your heart yesterday. That is scary! And I hate emergency rooms...one constantly hears how busy and overloaded they are, but every time you go in there, theres not a nurse or doctor to be found and they let you languish for no good reason. I had to sign myself out once...it was not long after I had Erin, and I was having stomach problems. I began throwing up every fifteen minutes, and could not keep anything down...it go to where I was getting dehydrated. I sat in an ER room for three hours, in the dark, without anyone checking in on me, and all I ahd requested was something to stop the vomiting. Somehow my body decided to stop on its own, but I eventually ended up just getting up, getting dressed and walking out without telling anyone. There was NO ONE to be found when I left.
I was ANGRY. What the heck is going on in emergency rooms?

CAVEAT: I do NOT make it a regular habit to go to ERs...in fact that last experience took place ONLY because it was on a Saturday, and my reg doctors office was closed, and so was the local clinic.

My mom seems to think it may be stress related. Something like an anxiety attack.
What worries me is the fact that this has gotten progressively worse over the last 3 days. I'm only 30, but I do smoke and take BCPs, which is a big medical no-no.
