Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Sounds like reasonably good health. None of them had to be carried!

Doing taxes today too when I get to the Beach House. It is pouring out here... I sure hope it stops so I can get a pic of Frodo at the
Tacoma Narrows bridge!

What kind of a nut would drive out on a bridge bucking like that in the first place?

Curiouser still to me is the footage of normal traffic on it when it was rocking and rolling. It did that (albeit a little less violently) all the time! Amazing.

Well it was a really long way 'round in those days, but it is queezy and *high* enough to make folk nervous now (specially when it is windy, which it always is there). It is a "two handed white knucker" sometimes in a vehicle with any sail area at all, and the bridge itself isn't galloping. They stop trucks from crossing till the wind dies when it is too bad.

Good morning everyone.
Hi, Corin. I figure I am really more of a hobbit than a dwarf, since I am kind of introverted and all.
However, I notice that I am developing dwarf like habits and thought processes, no doubt from hanging around you guys and having a good time with you.
So, I guess I am more like Bilbo, specially as being older than most here, but loves to go on adventures with, and hang around with dwarves.
'Course I am not a burglar ;-)

Me neither. I think taxes are a government plot.
To: Sam Cree
Maybe I should have a few Car Bombs before I start.

Yeah, probably, tho I am doing my best to not learn how to make one of those. It might lead to unpredictable results on the 1040.
