The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Heh, I haven't gone longer than 3 days without a post, I think. Even if I only post a single message in a given day...
Not going to bed yet, I was just seeing Jen off... although I should be going soon myself as well. Having to get up at 5 am doesn't agree with me, unfortunately!
To: ecurbh
Dang that was quick!
To: Corin Stormhands
Well, since I'm still working on it anyway, it's easy to upload a new version.
To: ecurbh; HairOfTheDog
Thanks!
And I'll say goodnite now. See y'all tomorrow on Dwarf-Moot Eve...
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Oh I hope we don't have to add those to the rules! Some things should go without saying! - on second thought.... maybe we better!

Might be a good idea to keep dogs away from him, too!
Male ones, anyway.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Yes! - Who said they were going to take him to Yellowstone? I scrolled back up, but I missed it.

Working on rules/FAQ page now...
To: ecurbh; SuziQ
Good! It was SuziQ who mentioned Yellowstone!
Can I have him the third week in August? We're going to Wyoming, and I can take him to see Old Faithful in Yellowstone!!

I don't know if anyone specifically said they would take him to Yellowstone... I think it was just mentioned as a possible landmark to visit. However, my memory, as always, is suspect!
I really would like to take him to the Alamo, though... I've never actually visited it as a tourist. Rose and I walked past it once, and I didn't realize what it was until we were walking back. I turned to Rose and said, "Is that...?" Yep, it was. It's amazing how the city has grown up around the old mission.
Same sort of thing once happened to me when I was in a car driving through Dallas... we turned a corner onto the Stemmons Freeway, and I suddenly realized we were following the same route Kennedy's motorcade had taken. Kinda spooky, actually!

It was SuziQ who mentioned Yellowstone!Doh!
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Indeed! - Living in one of the younger states... There are fewer historical landmarks here, though I can take him to the end of the Oregon trail!

That's pretty cool!
I just realized, we could take Frodo to the Grassy Knoll in Dallas... I took a walk there once, during a trip different from the one where we drove on the Stemmons Freeway.
LOL, Frodo as one of the Three Tramps! LOL!
To: HairOfTheDog
Hmm, I wonder what the actual dates of the Kitty Hawk celebration, and the Minnesota State Fair are?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Corin needs him on the first of August. Don't know about the fair!

The MN State Fair is Aug 21 - Labor Day.
To: ecurbh; HairOfTheDog
Well, heck, that allows for at least a week travel time via Priority Mail, should be more than sufficient I would think.
Time for go to bed! Good night, all.
To: ecurbh
waitaminute... I thought Labor Day was the first Monday in September?
To: ecurbh
Heh.... Well, we have a lot of time till August to see if there is a way to fit all that in! - There are other time-slots still available! - Like where he goes from here, for one!
