Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I think everyone slept in today...usually I'm one of the LAST of the east coast folks to check in.

Good Morning!
Had a crazy weekend- went to the Red Sox game Saturday. It was cold and boring and we lost. Had we gone Friday or Sunday it would have been just the reverse.
Helped the stepdaughter pick out a puppy yesterday. Her approach to dogs is very much like her approach to clothes- whatever's cutest! We steered her toward a beagle pup and found a nice breeder 'down the Eastern Shore'. He's a hunter who runs his dogs in field trials- which is really neat. He also keeps Australian cattle dogs so Big_ol' took to him instantly. Well, the pup is named Wyatt and is as cute as can be. He wimpered and bayed all the way home. Stinky little guy. Puppy smell is everywhere on clothes, in the jeep. The cats feel so betrayed and are in a huff. To make it worse, Big_ol' is puppy sitting today whilst Wyatt's new momma is at work. The cats will never forgive us.

And you don't have pictures to post??? Shame on you! ;-)
To: RosieCotton
Big_ol' just emailed me a bunch, and as soon as he's uploaded them to the server, I'll post.

Your mail should have come right away... are you receiving other mail? Not in Outlook. I didn't get a chance to look at it again this morning since we all overslept and the Mrs. had to finish printing out tests for school (spring break is next week). So I'll try again tonite.
I am still getting mail when I go to the Comcast web site. It's just not showing up on the new system yet. I'm going to talk to our IS guy here at work today. Maybe he can walk me through it.
ksen, this is why I haven't responded to your e-mail.
Oh and, HELLO! Good Morning!

I think everyone slept in today...usually I'm one of the LAST of the east coast folks to check in. Yep. That was us. I missed the alarm at 4:00 to go work out and the Mrs. was asleep on the couch. She woke me up at 6:30. Just got here and am catching up...
To: Lil'freeper
Big_ol' just emailed me a bunch, and as soon as he's uploaded them to the server, I'll post. Excellent! I'll look forward to seeing them...

Morning!
I am putting the coffee out first because I am soooo tired my eyeballs feel like 2 dried up raisins in my head. Ugh! Alyson got up every other hour last night. I don't know why though. *sigh*
Munchie time!
Scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, 5 platters of bacon, 3 platters of plump sausages, a skillet of hash browns and 3 dozen pigs in a blanket. I've sliced up some fresh fruit and cheeses on a dish for the ones who just want something to pick at. Blueberry muffins and buttermilk biscuits are on the table in the covered basket. Juices are in the icechest as usual. ENJOY!

Slept late, missed breakfast, didn't scoop the kitty pans, instrument stopped in the night, going for breakfast now.

Alyson got up every other hour last night. Luke has been up crying in the middle of the night every night since the surgery. Last night though, I could tell the cough was hurting his throat. I gave him Delsym at 2:00 a.m. and it was the first night he hasn't ended up in our bed to sleep.
We had stopped the nebulizer. But with the plants blooming, I think we'll need to crank it back up.

I've been giving Becky the new over the counter Claritin syrup and it has done wonders for her coughing. Between the Singulair every night and a dose now and then of the Claritin, I've managed to get the coughing-gagging under control.
If his coughing is any way related to allergies, give the Claritin a try!

Okay, I need to hit something or somebody.
Glenn Beck just said that Planned Parenthood is now behind the war because...are you ready?...."Iraqi women need abortion rights..."
Terrorism comes in all forms...
To: Corin Stormhands
Well...unfortunately abortion rights are the first thing that comes to mind when they think "humanitarian aid". Sad, isn't it? Not water, not food, not better living conditions...but readily available abortions. Great.
To: Corin Stormhands
Comes to THEIR mind, that is.
To: RMDupree
If his coughing is any way related to allergies, give the Claritin a try! Thanks. This is new so I'm guessing it's allergy related. Last night he was coughing, Jr. was sneezing and the Mrs. still fighting her sinus infection. I told them "you all need to be checked for allergies."
I'm also getting estimates on having the ducts in our house cleaned out. We've never done it and I'm sure the people before us never did it (in 8 years they used the fireplace every winter and never had a chimney sweep come in). But my m-i-l gets bronchitis pretty badly every winter. We need to do that.
I seem to be surviving because I take an allergy medicine every day anyway. For a different allergy that cropped up before I discovered the cancer. In fact it lead to the discovery of the cancer. But the meds I take help the nasal stuff as well.
To: RosieCotton
Well...unfortunately abortion rights are the first thing that comes to (their) mind when they think "humanitarian aid". Exactly. They are so single issue. Nothing else matters to them.
