The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good morning!
Sunday before last was so bleak...yesterday was a good day compared to it. I hate it that we have anyone MIA or killed, but to find those MIAs alive and well and to get that young lady back was great.
And really, if those bodies are indeed our servicemen, I'm glad we found them too. At least they get to rest in peace at home instead of in some shallow sandy grave. I have to believe the parents can find some comfort in that.

Good morning everyone!
I won't be here today because my mom was in the hospital last night getting a CAT scan. She hit her head really hard on Monday - hard enough to see bleeding under the skin right between the eyes and yesterday she looked really terrible. It turns out the she did sustain a hairline fracture in the front of her skull and the doctors say she lost a bit of the liquid that buffers the brain from the skull. She also has a hematoma. *sigh* My life is never dull! What a terrible Hobbit I make!
Let me get breakfast on and hopefully I'll be able to hop online at home and catch up on the posts.
Bacon, egg and cheese breakfast biscuits, 6 platters of sausages and bacon, hash browns and banana nutbread. Coffee and juices are ready to serve. ENJOY!
See you all later!

Aprils Fool Joke
4/02/03, 4:58 am EST - leo
Hey guys, leo here. Well.. my inbox has been flooded with emails about yesterday's april's fool joke. Honestly, Isengard doesn't even begin to compare to the status of my inbox. The general consensus seems to be that everyone pretty much gathered it was a joke after the first heart attack had passed, and we even managed to trick some of our own staff (right Quickbeam?). To be quite honest the real criminal masterminds behind this joke were GreenBooks Staffer Anwyn who wrote the press release and Calisuri who came with the idea in the first place, really I had nothing to do with it at all 0:)
I'm glad everyone took it so well though (I'm not counting the 20+ deaththreats I got), our past april fools, amongst others the one about New Line acquiring TheOneRing.net, didn't go over to well but I think this one did the trick pretty good. Thanks for playing along and keep your wit open next year!

Cool.
Good morning, Hair.

What footage are they showing? - The flashing lights and big booms footage? - Or some other?
I am surprised I stayed up theis morning, I wasn't going to. Was gonna feed horses and go back to bed. No sleep. I was up for hours last night because the news was interesting and keeping me up.
Did you see the press conference with the three Marines who were wounded and sent to Germany? It was on at like 2 in the morning here. I hope they replay the whole thing sometime and not just snippets. They were great... Where do we I get these men?

The footage of the Lynch rescue. It's done with night vision, but you can see the guys carrying her to a helicopter and leaning over and talking to her.
I can imagine they looked like angels to her.
