The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

unfortunately I've been at work for the last 2.5 hrs. looking at a pile of work I have no desire to dive into yet. Ugh! I know that feeling all too well. These stupid reports have been sitting on my desk for 3 days!

Heh.... oh dear. You need to get out to the farm more! Why do I picture a pig in a cow costume holding a sign that says "Eat more beef!"
See what happens when breakfast is late? LOL!

I remember you telling me about Mrs. Corin's rough pregnancy. I will have to shake her hand just out of respect for what she went through to get your boys here! :)
Preemie care is top notch these days. I'm certain that the baby will be fine, but I can certainly understand why mommy is ticked off to find out that her C-section was scheduled too early.
RE; Power tools. I am a Hobbit lass and am trying to maintain a proper level of decorum!

Looks pretty good for the baby, that's great. It's feet can be fixed, you think?
My brother and me were born early, we both weighed less than 4 lbs each, Mom said she could hold us in the cup of just one hand, but seems like we came out OK in the end, well maybe that's going too far, but still.
Actually I am kind of shocked the OB guy miscalculated a C section that badly.

I should do my taxes today, but I don't wanna...
To: ecurbh
I haven't done mine either! - Gotta go up to the beach house this weekend and do them on TurboTax.... Hope I don't have to pay again... I tried to fix my withholdings this time around.

excellent speach!

I'd rather pay a little than let the gubmint use my money interest-free for a year.

Mine are going to be a mess because I had two jobs in two different states. Ugh. Thank goodness for TurboTax.
To: libarian
Yeah! - It was! - Glad he is feelin' good today.... He seemed up and very much on his game. I think that means things are very much under control and going well. I don't think he can hide inner doubt very well.

I heard him. He was kickin' some butt.

Sure her feet can be fixed! Becky was born bilaterally club-footed and it was a real nightmare getting her plaster casts changed once a week for 4 months!
The casts never worked though and we finally decided to opt for surgery when she was 9 months old. Very stressful and I was sooooo frightened, but look at her now.
The treatment and repair of club feet is in some ways worse for the parents than it is for the child. The kids never remember it!

Slumber moot? sounds cool to me.

you'll probably need to fry up a whole cow's worth of bacon every day. OT, didn't you say something about working for the Department of Agriculture?

From the Chaplain we've adopted:
Hello Kim.I just got "back in town" after being out on a mission for a couple of days. It was awesome! I saw about 20-30 wild camels walking around today. How many people can say that?
All that you send, and all of the hard work put into what you send (shopping, pricing, boxing, mailing, etc.) is appreciated immensely. I don't want you to spend too much of your own resources in purchasing the items and sending the packages. Hopefully a couple have come in already - I saw our mail guy at chow and he told me that I had a few packages. I'll find out tomorrow! Can't wait!
Thank you for everything. You're a blessing to myself and our brave soldiers here.
Clay in His hands,
"The Renegade Chaplain"
I don't think the good Chaplain has any idea how giving the Hole has been! LOL If those packages are already there, that is GREAT! It usually took about 14 days for my packages to reach Kosovo when I was mailing them there.
