Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good morning Ruthy! I think the media was pretty overwhelmed with the bad news yesterday themselves. We lose troops so seldom that they still don't really know who to cover it just the right amount. What would be the balance of making the soldiers lost important without dragging us all down? - I don't know.

Hi Hair! How is Niner? Good Morning! Niner is a little high maintenance, in the way all youngon's are, he runs around nonstop and plays with everything and wants attention and stuff! Bah!
Here she is curled up last night with with Gidget, who she is quite fond of... Gidget is still quite terrified.... doesn't trust tricksy cats with their snuggling one day, claws the next!

I just watched the sun go down in Baghdad...live feed is a miracle. Heard the evening prayers and can hear the cars honking.

And in any cupboard I open, and crawls into the fridge when I open that...
My big cat is beginning to get annoyed. He has now staked out my desk as 'his' and bats the little one off when she tries to jump up. He may kill her yet. (Least he is keeping her out of my coffee)
