Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

HA! Yeah, some on other threads are being kind of hard on the old rattletrap. It might be a loud old rattletrap, but I bet the pilots of them have great affection for them when pressed! No one serves thirty years unless there is a reason to keep you around!

Some friends with kids that they are having trouble with think it would be good if their boy came to us for spring break. He is a nice kid, I can't figure out why there is trouble at home, but seemingly there is. I will have a nice time fishing with him. Hey Sam! If it works with this kid, can I send you Jr.? ;-)

I've always wondered why the LEO's and all make a big deal about cutting the chains of the protestors-rioters etc. How about just leaving them there, chained up, eventually they'll get tired of standing there, chained to a door or street sign (like after the second or third night) and ask to be releasedLOL! About a month ago some anit-war people protested in front of Sen. Edwards' office in Raleigh and the police ignored them! They were not very happy about it but I got a few good chuckles.

We have flood warnings now, haven't seen the sun in a week and it's getting rather depressing.

My daughter says it is kind of gloomy in upstate New York too. But North Carolina seems to have had an amazing winter.

Good morning! Flood warnings here, too. It's very, very soggy out there, especially with all the melting snow.
Trying to keep up with the news, and wishing once again that I had TV. Broadband is decent, but not the same as TV - yet anyway.

Bet yer bottom dollar that tomorrow...there'll be sun... I think we're inheriting your rain...no clear days for the foreseeable future. Supposed to have "rain showers" every day until at least next Thursday or so. Yuck. Mud season is definitely upon us...I'd rather drive on black ice than through the mud we have on the back roads right now! It's nasty stuff. I've come a lot closer to having an accident in this stuff than in winter conditions.
