The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

You know, the media all concentrated on the phrase "shock and awe" as meaning big bombs and massive attacks.
No one ever considered the shocking and awe-inspiring effect of taking out a country's military leadership with a single attack of some well-placed cruise missiles and laser-guided bombs.
If it worked... wow.
To: HairOfTheDog
Very artistic actually. Inspiring too.
I like your current tag line. That's kind of what this is all about, free folk.
To: HairOfTheDog
I'm going to bed...steve's all in a snit because he came home and I was online.
sigh.

Good night 2J.
To: Sam Cree
There just seems to be more gravity when it is is more distant. There is a moment happening, but the photographer would only be able to guess what it was.
I am happy enough with the tag line for the moment!

Was just outside for a minute. We have a fairly strong southerly breeze, scattered clouds are moving rapidly northwards, passing by and under the almost full moon, which is very bright at the moment. Kind of beautiful, kind of spooky.

Good night all...
2JM, if you're going to bake a pumpkin pie when we get Osama, what are you going to bake if we blowed up Sadaam with our first strike?
Here's hoping we did...
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Night Bear, think I will hit the sack too, I should anyway.
Good night everyone.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear; Sam Cree

My present arrived today! - and it is really cool!
I love it. Thank you!
I think it looks like Frodo! And it is definately for beer.
ALL: My Back Yard sent me the coolest Frodo goblet. The base lights up red, but my flash is drowning it out. It is too cool!

I didn't stick around last night because I was pooped! I didn't want to stay up too late. Guess I'll have to catch up on "war highlights".
Local news is reporting 3 cases of SARS in our area. Great.
Other than that, it's a Good Morning!
To: Overtaxed
There are supposed to be FR rallies all over the country this weekend. I'm going to the Richmond Rally for America on Sunday.
Hello! Good Morning!
To: SuziQ; HairOfTheDog; Sam Cree
Even VA has gotten less 'Southern' these days. I think Corin and Sam would agree. Sad, but true. But there are part of Virginia that are still very southern. You have to pretty much be below Fredericksburg and west of I-95. But, if you're looking for the Southern cultural experience, hit a small town in Georgia or Mississippi.

It's raining like crazy here. I wish I could pour a big cup of coffee and watch the t.v. But, alas, I've got to drive the trolls to Charlottesville...
See y'all later today sometime.
To: Corin Stormhands; All
Have fun- be safe.
Morning, all. Meant to get a good nite's sleep but I ended up watching the Pres and war coverage. Prayers for our troops.
To: Corin Stormhands
I'm going to the one in Raleigh on Saturday. The news says there's supposed to be a bunch of anti-war protestors show up at the capitol today at 11:00. Wonder how many out-of-work bu....I mean...unemployed people will show up to protest in the rain?
