Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Sheesh! This is starting to sound like work! (but thanks) HA HA HA HA ROFL! The key is, with enough of that dreaded experience, you can minimize the work as much as possible.
don't want to get all elfy on you but plants are my friends. *tongue in cheek* they don't talk back to me like my teenager does. and i don't get calls from teachers about how they're just not doing the work they're supposed to be doing in class. whew, what a relief.

It always seems to rain on the weekends when I could get a lot of outdoor work doneSounds like a good reason to watch a good movie or read a good book to me. Got anything good lying around that needs to be watched or read? I think I might have to celebrate 2J's birthday tomorrow. i might even make a cheesecake ingredients have been on hand for a month.

I've considered painting some encouraging sign on my roof, but Steve would probably object!
When the 2000 election was on, our homeowner's assoc. wouldn't let us put any signs of support for Bush in our yards. So I painted around the four front windows in a deep blue, leaving spaces to make BUSH and called it art-deco.

Gee. It's a shame that we're not just a little closer together! Myranda has to be at school till about 11 tonight for a theater production (she's not in it, she's doing props) so, I'm sitting here from noon till about midnight twiddling my thumbs. (well, cookies and a good book are present - also, the yard i didn't work on wednesday.)

Well, I'm hoping you guys can help me do better with plants.
Hair couldn't exactly help me figure out the fish thing...
To: 2Jedismom
That blows... can't open your link... was it a deployed PX? if so, they'll have it rebuilt before your package can get there...
To: RMDupree
I missed the skivvieless man of Gondor too. Sounds interesting enough. Let's see Hair, stick, skivvieless Gondorian, yeah, I'll hafta go find that.

So I painted around the four front windows in a deep blue, leaving spaces to make BUSH and called it art-deco. NOW THAT IS JUST TOTALLY COOL!!! Do you want to come do something like that for me?
And 2J, if you want to paint on a roof then maybe you ought to go ahead and run down here for the day. I own my house and I don't have a husband to tell me NO! Sheppard Air Force Base is on the north side of town here and they fly over us regularly. We can send 'em any kind of message you want to put up there. (only because i trust you, the vichy chicks don't get no offer like that)

HELP PLEASE!Anyone know where I can find a cool "Support Our Troops" slogan/picture I can print out to hang outside my cube? I've seen enough peace signs and anti-Bush signs hanging out and I want to show my view too since they can. Thanks!
As a side note, I never said this, but I was on the fence about the war. I was unsure about some things, but I've been doing some research and read up on some things and I'm totally for it. The thing I'm NOT for and am getting mad about is that Bush is trying to appease the UN. Was it Corin's tag that read "Screw the UN, let's roll?" EXACTLY!

No. Last year I had a bit of a bad run with goldfish. Kept buying them and they kept dying. Finally think I figured out (with help) that the bowl shape was wrong and they weren't getting enough air.
Hair gave me lots of pointers. I finally gave up after about a dozen fish...

Good morning everyone!Listen! - The president is speaking!
Welcome back g'nad! Hope you straightened out California.
Thanks for breakfast Ruthy!
Corin I certainly do hope you do better with plants than fish!
A friend just got dumped by her boyfriend. This means I have to take her out drinking tonight. There will likely be karaoke involved. She will go anyway, someone needs to drive her home. I'm goin' out!

Ahhh.... I went through a fish spell with Myranda. I finally decided ours was that our old house didn't have air conditioning or heat except propane space heaters. It finally dawned on me that the sudden changes in weather were when the fish floated. Aquarium became another planter.

Good Morning One and All!
As always, thanks for breakfast Ruthie! mmmmm....hashbrowns...
As a compliment to Ruthie's exceptional culinary masterpiece, give me 10 minutes and I'll have a monster skillet filled with yummy corned beef hash for y'all! Eat up!
Good news...Autumn has made it 5 days in a row without an "accident"! Such a big girl now...she broke my heart this morning when I asked her if she needed help going potty, she turned to me and clear as day said, "No thanks Dad...I do it all by myself!" I just about cried...
In "New Job" news, I completed my first batch of student placements, getting 3 grads intro positions at H*sbro Toys, in their design department! It feels so good to help them...I love it.
No dark clouds in sight...knock wood...

I'm goin' out! You are a true friend. Willing to sacrifice and everything. Makes me feel bad that I don't just bite the bullet and drive up the interstate and take 2J out tonight. (after all, we both live off the same interstate)
