The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good for you. And know, He does not give us more than we can bear. I'll say some prayers too for you and your family.
To: Overtaxed
I wish they'd catch OBL. I can't stand this rollercoaster ride. Do you think they are close?

Those are fabulous. And Sean Connery and Leo DiCaprio would have made a decent Gandalf and Legolas. But only Wood could have played Frodo. He's the one actor who could carry the one-ring role, uh, something. :)
And if Jackson had tried for those guys the budget would have blown through the roof I'm sure. Much as I can't stand Julia Roberts, she might have been an improvement over Liv.

HA! - You *like* the ideas?
I like Liv Tyler in the role, and I actually don't hate Julia Roberts in roles. I have liked a lot of them. It is only when she has to write her own conversation that she loses her appeal.
And I will forget what you said about DiCaprio being as good as Orlando Bloom!

Thank you Kev. ((hug)) received and returned!

Man, those are good! Did Registered give that guy lessons?
Anyway, I don't think any of them are an improvement over the guys and gal we have all come to know and love. ;^)
BTW, I don't think even PJ would have given Elrond glasses.

Heh.... Yes there is something distinctly un-elvish about needing glasses.

Man, those are good! Did Registered give that guy lessons? Yeah, I don't know how they do it. Amazing!

It's my cousin Max. 22 years old and has been diagnosed with cancer. I'm so sorry Ruthy. Cancer sucks. I was fortunate that mine was caught early.
We'll pray for Max.
To: RMDupree
Thanks for making me laugh, Corin! Laughter helped me get through my surgery and treatment. It's a rare gift that I know God has given me. I can find, and make fun of, the absurdity in any situation.
Not long after my treatment, a guy in my office said "I lost one of my best friends to cancer." Without missing a beat I said, "So did I."
(you have to remember the type of cancer I had to get that one...)

HA!
To: HairOfTheDog
Be careful Hair! We don't know who else might be watching! (My niece and daughter would never forgive me) I said they would have been - OK. (Cough Cough backtrack) :)
I liked Roberts in The Mexican, but that was all I could stand of her. That big mouth on the big screen is more than I can stand.
To: My back yard
Well, I liked her in Steel Magnolias, a favorite movie of mine that I watch in the closet. and The Pelican Brief. And I liked Pretty Woman OK.
To: HairOfTheDog
I'd be barfing my guts out if they had cast that DiCaprio brat as Legolas.

Yoda as Gollum I still LOL everytime I think of the Yoda/Saruman smack down scene in Star Wars II: Attack of the Really Bad Sequel from a Franchise Past Its Prime
To: Overtaxed
That is the nicest thing you have ever said about elves!
To: 2Jedismom
Do you think they are close? I think they're close if they haven't got him already. Seems like there is a lot of misinformation flying around but then, what do I know? :)
