Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

do you really want to go to KC? Or are you just thinking its the smart career move? Didn't you mention something one time about being concerned your job won't last where you are? When they first brought it up, I was willing to give KC a try. The only qualm I had was wondering how long it would take to sell my house here....I don't want to get stuck paying two mortgages (or rent + mortgage) for too long. And if KC didn't work out, it would be easier to move back to NC since I've got (a fourth of) a house that's already paid for that I can move back to.
The job I have here is not going to last: they are shutting down here and moving to KC.

...I am hoping we can all get together at g'nads! I think we should get together at 2J's. I could make it there. (see how easy it is not only for me to invite myself but to dump the whole bunch of us one you and Steve?)

I thought I remembered you saying something about the job not lasting. So, I guess that would give you added incentive to consider the move to KC. Well, it would make for a nice mooting position.
Know what you mean about the housing. My old home hasn't sold yet. Fortunately it was paid for several years ago, but still I'm having upkeep on 2 places while it isn't selling. The toughest part to me is getting stuff like the lawn mowing kept up.

unsweetened coconut is at http://www.lowcarbluxury.com ...
But even sweetened is not that high in carbs for maintenance.
Have disovered a new locarb bread at Walmart, as well as a really good chocolate-almond ice cream.

I think I am lucky on my house.
It was built by a young electrical engineer for himself, to his specifications, and in large part, with his own hands. His next door neighbor was an architect, this house was his first project ever as a licensed architect.
Then the guy lived in it for 30 some years, raised a family, eventually he retired, at which point we bought the thing.
It is twice as well built as practically any other house around. For instance there are things called hurricane straps that help hold the roof on during hurricanes. This place has something like 3 times as many as current code requires. Plus there are other systems of his own design to resist high winds, and other stuff too, like 24 volt light switches, where one switch controls 12 different light fixtures. 'Course his wife still hadn't figured out how to work that switch properly 30 years later.
Morning everyone.

Hi, OT, what's going on. It' still very warm here, tho apparently we are going to cool off a little. Kind of wish it would rain, and wash away some of this pollen.
There has been more pollen from the oaks this year than I ever remember.
To: Sam Cree
It's cooled down somewhat from yesterday. They're looking for a high in the mid-fifties today. We're just waiting for the pine pollen to hit...turns everything yellow. When the wind blows you can see puffs of yellow clouds coming from the trees.

We're potty-training Autumn now....Good luck.
Hey Seamus, when you're done, can you help with the Dwarves? ;^)

thanks for the tip re lowcarbluxury. I think I've seen it, but balked at the price. At this point, I'll order it anyway. The issue with the sweetening is more of sugar than of overall carbs. We're discovering a startling sensitivity to it.
re Walmart- how is that ice cream sweetened? And does the bread have white flour or soy in it? Which, if any, oils? What is the carb count /slice? Regardless, you're surely talking about one of those superWalmarts. Ours doesn't carry anything like ice cream.

Good morning everyone!
Now that Michelle is home, I can try to go back to my normal routines. Man, I feel like I've been put through the wringer! Whew!
Anyway, the first thing I want to do is to lift Corin's son, Luke, up in prayer during this morning's surgery. May the Lord guide the surgeons and provide comfort to his parents during this stressful procedure, and may the Lord's goodness and mercy provide a complete healing to Luke. In the precious Name of Jesus, Amen.
I just kind of skimmed over the last hundred posts or so since I am pressed for time today. My boss is back and brought a lot of work with him. *sigh*
Let me get breakfast on the table.
Waffles with maple syrup, fried eggs and bacon, along with plump juicy sausages. Grits, biscuits and hash browns are on the hot plate for the folks that are starving this morning. I've also cut up a bunch of fresh melon for the "dieting Dwellers" and some low-cal muffins are in the basket. Coffee is brewed and ready to serve, along with the standard juices and some hot chocolate. ENJOY!
To: Lil'freeper
It's kind of hard to have peace of mind during a hurricane. :)
To: ItsOurTimeNow
Hair - Apart from your advice, would you also recommend using a squirt bottle to correct the behavior? LMAO Maybe! I haven't used the squirt bottle for that.... But I have used it for jumping up!
To: ItsOurTimeNow
I think the DVD release dates are roughly what they were last year, Theatrical in August, Extended in November.
