The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Hmm. Not any good points there. For example, the only possible reason to have wimmen around your house is convenient sex. And there's NO reason to have other men around your house. Since that's no woman (it likely isn't you), strike one. Big hairy feet are going to shed all over the place: who's gonna clean that up, some hobbit with no visible means of support? Fat chance, strike 2. And re the pipe and mug, it looks like this person intends to smoke all my tobacco and drink all my beer. Strikes 3 and 4. Plus they're a cartoon, without being one of those sexy Japanese cartoons. Strike 5, or whatever the next number is. Just what are this person's good points supposed to be, Miss Hair?

"What's the name of that cheap red wine?In college, once my brother and a friend of mine were drinking beer, then switched to Ripple, eventually we got good and drunk, about midnight decided to drive out to the friend's shack in the woods on a lake. We were driving through the woods in a scout, but eventually the woods gots so thick and impenetrable, we abandoned the scout and continued on foot.
The lake was up, to our surprise, so we had to wade out to the floating shack, the dock was under water. Then there were wasps nests, so drunk as we were, we managed to kill all the wasps and collapse, still dressed on the bunks.
Next morning, nobody felt too good, I remember throwing up in the woods. Surprisingly we managed to find the scout, we couldn't figure out how it had gotten where it was, so completely surrounded by trees was it that we had to use an axe that we had with us to chop down a couple pines before we could move the vehicle in any direction.
By afternoon, we were OK and at it again, drinking. That was exam week. Oh, to be young again.

I have no idea what fava beans are...

course most people can't tell I've been drinkin'Heh, I had a best buddy for years who was like that... Rose and I would go to his house on a Saturday night, play cards and visit with him and his wife, he'd sit drinking beer or harder stuff the whole time... couldn't tell it was having any effect on him until sometime long after midnight when he'd start getting maudlin ("You know, yuuuuurrr the besssst friend I've ever had... no, rilly, I luuuuv you man!")

Oh, what a lovely picture!

Perhaps it's "will be."
I think you were gone the other day when g'nad and I discussed Dwarf-Moot.

"That's Chianti"
I thought she meant Ripple. Though I'm not sure you can still buy it.

You both trouble me deeply. ;)
To: Argh
Oh Argh....
You don't think that is an attractive picture? I am so hurt. [sniff]
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh, I'm sorry, Miss Hair, I'm sure it's very attractive to another whatchamacallit.

I'm going home but I want to thank all of you for your prayers first.
Like I said on the other thread, I hope to be back later on, but I have to see what's going on tonight. I'll be sure to let you all know if we hear from Michelle.
Thanks again everybody! Especially for the smiles and laughs you've brought to my otherwise sad day.
