Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Miss Hair, considering the picture you posted of yourself some time ago featuring those impressively large and hairy feet (it looked more like Bilbo Baggins than you, but I quibble), have you ever considered changing your moniker around here to "HairOfTheFeet"?

P.S. I'm re-reading you-know-what for aboot the 10th or so time. Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas (that would be the real Legolas, not the gay one, snicker!) are sitting there 30 or so leagues from Fangorn with their faces hanging out waiting for the Riders to come up and smunch them. For some reason I don't think the Riders will smunch them this time, either. Books are funny that way, they don't change...

He may even turn 'our way' in time, Could be he's a "democrat" out of habit- "everyone else" in hollywood is- but a conservative at heart. I know a few rank and file union folks like that. Ask them about taxes, working hard and making your own life for yourself, God and country, Bill Clinton, etc and you'd think you were talking to right-wingers. They all had Gore stickers on their trucks.

Hair, I felt weary, and like a cat dooked in my mouth... but after I ate, I felt great... I don't get bad hangovers...
the shot were a variety... bourbon, Wild Turkey, tequilla, rum... nasty mix... that's why I needed the beer... to cleanse the pallet...

Please know that the following story happened over 20 years ago...
I went over to a guy's house in my fraternity (I was a little sister) with a bunch of my friends. I had a large bottle of sangria. The guy that had the house gave me two pills (?) and I took them! I then polished off the bottle of sangria. Woke up a while later, friends gone, guy was trying to make me "more comfortable" (he said). I managed to get in my car and drive to my dorm.
Got up the next morning and went to a lit. class. I sat perspiring for a while, til I got sick and had to run out.
Dumb, huh? My parents had no idea what the world was really like. I do. And my kids will.
