Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Here's an interesting tidbit... You know that big fish we just pulled in this weekend. He's the uncle of Ramzi Yousef.
Yousef was the mastermind of the 1st WTC bombing. Their plan was to topple the first tower into the second, but of course it didn't work.
Yousef is also Iraqi intelligence. The bomb maker in that instance was also Iraqi intelligence...

I was kidding about the beans, just be sure to keep your gases to yourselves. There will be no fart-lighting competitions today.
I almost lost my curtains the last time.
To: RMDupree
...since tapping the first is such thirsty work you may just be tempted to keep one to yourself... I'll just carry it around like a can...

Hullo! Good morning!
To: g'nad
Please tell me you're wearing skivvies today...

Boker Tov! (Good morning in Hebrew... my lessons are paying off)
To: Corin Stormhands
any legit "business" should be able to take payment directly. The office roomies and I were leaning in that direction. We're speculating that they are either used but original disks or copies. Regardless I thought I'd throw the link out there for 'education and discussion only'.

There will be no fart-lighting competitions today. aaawww man!!!

So what is [phonetic] Masel Tov? (as used in Fiddler on the Roof) I always thought it meant something like "congratulations".

Please tell me you're wearing skivvies today... nope... not on yer life...
To: HairOfTheDog
I think you are right...
To: g'nad
well... the living dead rose up and were trashin' the place this mornin... I was at Big'ol's office the day he cut the strings- the day of their little luncheon for him (they gave me a certificate for putting up with him- LOL). He simply set his phone to forward to one of his majors. Poor guy answered his phone the first time and this confused voice came over the cubicle wall.. "Uh, sir? I think this call is for you." to which Big'ol answered, "Major- it is your problem now!" The major had a wonderful sense of humor and answered with cheerful Army sarcasm, "Sir! Thank you!".

Things I don't want to know for $500, Alex!
To: g'nad; Corin Stormhands
I thank you in advance for not poisoning the guests. :)
g'nad, I sure was hoping you'd be skivvied today. At the very least, please put on an extra thick pair of snowpants to act as a buffer.
I'm starting to feel like the little gif guy Corin posted that turns green. :O
To: carton253
OK! - I was doubting myself when I saw 'Tov' used in talking about a day or morning! Thought it might have been something else like 'Good day'!
Boker Tov! then!
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes... tov means good (ma) tovah is good (f)
boker is morning...
To: Lil'freeper
I've actually dumped about 90% of my pack on my replacement already... that last 10%, I'm a-workin' on...
To: RMDupree; g'nad
