Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Ok. I'm going to look at WINTOP & MSCONFIG tonight. I just ran defrag a few weeks ago so that shouldn't be causing a problem.
Thanks everyone for your help!

Well, I have gotten the necessary work stuff done for the day and now I am going to bed.... I have a terrible headachey kinda thing going on.... I am afraind I am sick! Rats.

I love water aerobics; next to walking it's my favorite form of exercise. Besides getting a good work out, I find the water to be very therapeutic, stress-wise.
I also get free use of the whirlpool, and that is a little slice of heaven.:)

Oh dear...........take care.
To: Dawntreader
Well, I started when I was 5, so that makes it about
46 years.

What make of AR do you like?I'm only familiar with Colt, but I've heard good stuff about Armalite and Bushmaster. There are probably other good brands, too, at least as far as lower receivers go. The problems seem to pop up when combining GI parts with aftermarket parts from different manufacturers, or cast vs. forged parts. YMMV.
The major parts on my AR15 are Colt, except for the folding front sight and the handguards.
g'nad, the SKS is a great beater, and the 10-22 is just a fine .22 that one can do a million things with. I just want one with a genuine walnut stock with good, dense wood. Good walnut is getting hard to find outside of the premium custom stuff.

I got Samoas (or ... Caramel deLites, but I will always know them as Samoas), Peanut Butter Patties and the Animal Treasures! Yum yum yum! But what about the Thin Mints? Surely you didn't forget the Thin Mints?

Feel better soon ,sis! Be sure to take an Advil or two along with a nice cup of chamomile tea with honey and lemon.
Sendin' virtual hugs to ya!
I'm heading out folks! Bye!

Like WinMag, I'm familiar with Colt, Armalite, and Bushmaster... there are so many companies making "clone" parts, it's unbelievable...
WinMag, I love my SKS... yer right, it's a cheap beater, but I know it'll shoot when I pull it outta my truck... 10-22 is hard to beat for the price... I'll get a bolt or a lever .22 for the kids to cut their teeth on...
To: HairOfTheDog
I am afraid I am sick!

Can I get you anything else?

Godfather part I on AMC tonight @ 8pm EST. Now that you've got cable, at least you're sticking to "family" entertainment...so to speak. ;-)
I've got to go to a school talent show with the Mrs. tonite. :-(
To: MozartLover
Well good for you! I just kick myself when I think how much better I'd be had I kept taking lessons from the guy I last took from. He was the best teacher I'd ever had. He made me play a way I never thought I had in me.
To: HairOfTheDog
:-( I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the heads up! For some reason I still haven't bought the DVD set :-P
To: Corin Stormhands; Dawntreader
I've sworn off Girl Scout cookies... I won't support an organization that's completely sold out to the Homosexual Agenda to indoctrinate our youth...
To: Corin Stormhands
Can I get you anything else? She probably wouldn't mind one of these:

or maybe one of these:

And the latter one seems to be handy around the house to:
