Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Gee, I get excited when a new Walmart opens or Krispy Kreme. Looks like you people could fill me in on the exciting part of your lives so I could enjoy them vicariously!OK, how's this? There's a Home Depot opening about forty minutes away from where I live. I don't think I've even BEEN to a Home Depot, so we're kind of excited. I don't know the exact time frame, though...

I should scan some of the pictures of myself riding a horse when I was may 12-13 years old. It was a friend of mine's horse and I loved it so much. But my stars, I was ugly as a stump. I mean U-G-L-Y. Big old thick coke-bottle glasses, scrawny.

Well, the doctor finally called my wife back. He said her blood tests were normal, and the ultrasound didn't show anything. I think that was almost worse than the doctor actually finding something wrong.
Now she just wants to know what could cause her such pain and make her gums bleed.
Thanks everyone for keeping her in your prayers and thoughts.

If she is still in pain, I understand not knowing how to feel about a test showing nothing wrong. What now?

Let's face it 2J, very few are actually not "ugly as a stump" at 12 or 13...There are some cute ones, but it's an awkward age.
I mean, just look at Chelsea. She was a homely little girl with frizzy hair when her dad when to the White House and now....
Oh wait...nevermind...
To: 2Jedismom
Do scan it. I have pics of me riding as a kid too ya know.... big bell-bottom pants on.
To: ksen
Well, that's good news and frustrating news at the same time.
We'll just keep praying.
To: ksen
Well, that's good news, but I know how you feel! There's nothing worse than feeling sick and not being able to find the reason!

I think I'll wait until last frost before I fix anything. :)
To: Overtaxed
Well, after the last frost it'll be hurricane season won't it? - then tornado season? - Is there a time of year where the weather there is not likely to drop something large on your house?
To: Overtaxed
I think that's smart!

Any idea why my computer (at home) would suddenly work very slowly? When it loads up, it's not quick anymore like it used to be. I did the "ctrl+alt+delete" thing and closed down a lot of programs running, but it doesn't help. I can't get into Explorer or anything. It just sits there loading and loading and loading. I don't know what to do!
I don't think it's my connection...I can use my e-mail fine. I think something is holding my computer up but I just can't figure out what it is. It's soooo furstrating!
I did reset my modem, but that didn't help.
Any ideas?

Flirt.
Oh, you weren't just talking to me?
I'll stop by if I can.
To: HairOfTheDog
After last frost it turns into tornado season and then hurricane season runs from June to November.
To: Dawntreader
Is it only Explorer, or is is grinding in Word or Excel and other non-internet applications too?
To: 2Jedismom
Hehehe....a guy at the office said he was supposed to get his gutter fixed a few weeks ago. The repair guy hadn't shown yet which is a good thing. The wind last weekend knocked another bit limb on that gutter so he would have had to have it refixed.
