The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Thank you! I never bookmarked it...can you imagine that?

Got it now, though.

I think it is a different shirt than some of the shots, and it is nice and clean and crisp.... but I am not sure it is intended to be different.

In the Shire.... the collar decoration is the same, but the neck is different.

After Lorien, we don't get to see his collar anymore with the cloaks.

Hmmph...I wonder.

It's a great pic, though...isn't it!?

ROTK is going to kill me. I can't even stand to read the book.

Gotta go for a while...school time.

Sheesh! I just got a message from the school clinic. (they called about an hour ago and I just noticed).

Jr. came to the clinic complaining that he didn't feel well. He does have a cold, but he told her he might be getting strep, since his brother had it. Also a possibility. Of course last night he refused to take anything for it.

He doesn't have a fever. She'd already sent him back to class and I told her to keep him there.

My rule: No fever, no puke, no blood or broken bones, get your carcass back to class.

I think I just did something bad... ;-)

One of the professors just sent a copy of Byrd's speech to the entire college (which, as far as I know) is an inappropriate use of the college e-mail system. A very liberal staff member just walked in and told us we should really take the time to read it and think about it, and I told him I considered it inappropriate to send to the whole college, that I care for Byrd, and that I would be deleting it without reading.

Guess I'm out of the closet where that particular guy is concerned. Probably going to have to do some debating in the next few days...

One that looks nice.....

and not too expensive....

And get a second shrubbery so you can have a two-tier effect with a little path.

I would advise not debating anyone...but that's just me. I would just ignore them pointedly and maybe state that the workplace isn't a place for debate and you don't intend to feed into unprofessional conduct.
