Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

So Gods and Generals wasn't so great? I was planning on going to it, guess I still will, I think my wife may go with me.
How was sitting through 3 hours, 40 minutes of it?
Yeah, I think houses should be built on hills, if possible. I notice that a lot of backwoods country roads follow ridgelines, too.

What did they do to drsteve?
To: Corin Stormhands
(which has a strong presence here on FR) Well, that's putting it diplomatically.
To: Sam Cree
I mentioned it on Friday... but if you haven't seen it, see Hart's War. Also, We Were Soldiers. I saw it last night and it was very, very good.

Well, that's putting it diplomatically. I'm askeered not to. You have freepmail.
To: Sam Cree
It was alright... I guess I have too high of an expectation... they edited out the entire Sharpsburg Campaign (2 hours, it'll be on the DVD, so the EE'll be over 6 hours)... there was an intermission at about 2 1/2 hours in...
the old timers new a thing or two when they made roads, didn't they...

Ok, so I really care for neither of them either. But, I really do know people who have that for lunch.

But, I really do know people who have that for lunch. I've got friends for whom "pig's stomach" is a family treat.
That don't make it right.
To: Corin Stormhands
Got some canned possum back at the house.
To: Overtaxed
mmmmm...possum. That's good eatin'
To: Corin Stormhands
don't know about pig stomach, but gimme a haggis any day...
To: Corin Stormhands; Overtaxed
Afternoon. We get RC colas out of the soda water machine in front of the Minimax in Valley Mills, Texas. They're 25 cents.

Hi neighbor. This looks like a whole lotta fun. I'm gonna try and go just to watch! Maybe you would ping any other Texas folk you know of. Maybe we should try and build one ourselves?

Apparently I am not the only one who doesn't like remakes!
To: Overtaxed
Possum is awfully greasy. At least the possums around here. It kind of upsets my stomach.
