...can you IMAGINE the Ultimate Boxed Set to follow?

Our #2 son mentioned that this afternoon. He said it would probably be upwards of $100 if it is Extended versions of all three (which I sure HOPE it would be). He said the sad thing is that he'd sure be buying one! LOL!

but as a thinking man, the psychological struggles of the strange trinity of Frodo, Sam and Smeagol keep drawing me to that less physical and more spiritual battle. They steal the show, even from the great battles of Helm's Deep and Isengard.

Sir SuziQ said much the same thing about the movie. He said for all the CG, talking trees and huge battle scenes, it was one of the most HUMAN movies he'd ever seen.

By the way...today is our anniversary...Steve and I have been married 11 years today...at 1:00pm central.

Mazel Tov, 2J!! I hope you have had a great day (since I'm just now making my way to the end of the posts LOL!) And if I were you, I'd buy myself a big old 16 oz. 'vat o coffee' mug, and wrap it up for the boys to give you for Christmas!! Another hint; heat the milk (if you use it) the coffee stays warmer longer so you drink it more slowly. Heh heh!

Many best wishes for your future!

Sam's speech doesn't seem natural to me, and I am not sure why

But doesn't he give the 'speech' in the book, as they are making their way up the stairs at Cirith Ungol? I'm sure it is there; I just finished reading the book a couple of weeks ago. I remember the part about Frodo asking what story would be told about "Samwise Gamgee".

Susan and I celebrated 30 years in September.

Good for you! Sir SuziQ and I had our 27th Anniv. in October. They do seem to come faster every year, just like birthdays (drat!)But looking on the bright side, we'll be able to take advantage of some 'Senior' discounts beginning with our birthdays next year (we both hit the big 5-0 !)

Yes, he gives a similar speech... Jen posted the full text of it... see the next few posts, they will explain what I meant by that... I like the speech, only wrinkle my nose because it feels like exposition of the whole movie, when it could have been a more personal moment with Frodo. (In other words, don't hit us over the head, we can make the connect, PJ)

I understand what you mean, it did seem more 'speechy' than the book, but in the book they were sitting close together on the path, so it necessarily would have been more intimate.

Things are a lot slower in the Hobbit Hole today. I even funkled and my posts were spread out over an hour and 15 minutes!!

Something odd happening here Hair.

The picture download hangs up my system. Never finishes. Even affects refresh of this page. Is it the link or my system?

Boy - they fired right up for me, but they are in my cache now, so I can't necessarily tell if their server has slowed. Try going to the page itself, and let them load there...

Anyone else having the same trouble? - I will have it deleted if you are. Maybe I shouldn't have linked them from there.

Are those pictures of Gollum up there loading for you? Or does it hang forever?

Going to the page is where I first noticed it. The site just quits sending and the modem sits here waiting for nothing.

Yeah - I knew you were around and on dial up so I wanted to know if I should delete the post. Hate to kill the thread with good gollum pics!

What are the picture properties? Maybe I don't have what I need to view those extensions?
