Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Ungodly? It's almost 7:00 over there. Wake up, sleepy head!
To: Overtaxed

I was wondering if you were about. Are you already at work?

Yes. I've been at work for almost half an hour.

I know, but I normally get up at around 8am. But really, since Steve has been doing school, I find myself off the computer and actually ready to get off the computer, when he gets in from school...and I go to bed earlier!
So maybe I will start making it a habit to get up this early (6:30am). The morning is nice...the whole block is covered in fog.

I pull in to the ol' workplace around 0700 every morning. I'm much more productive in the morning. My brain gets all fogged up by afternoon and I'm not good for much analysis. :)

I was a 3-11 nurse for 15 years...I don't know if I'll ever get out of that schedule! When Matthew was tiny, he was on the same schedule...but Josh was another story and still is, early to bed, early to rise, just like Steve

Hm...funny thread!
Mine does fine, except that she doesn't wanna stay out. I just have to be sure to dig her a "poop loop" so she can do her business without getting buried...

Steve's been going nuts on the check-card purchases! LOL $3 here, $4 there...
Been gettin' danishes, I'll bet you anything. I'll get the gasoline statement and it'll be a fill-up with all these danishes listed! LOL

Arrgh! I tried twice to open the file, and each time I got an "Internet Explorer needs to kick you off the computer message"!Maybe if you right click and do a save target (not to be confused with the store) as?
It's not that big of a deal, though...just a doodle.

I'm out racing rats at 0700.
To: 2Jedismom
LOL! They've got Larry Storch on the radio here (he's in town doing
Some Like it Hot) doing an impression of Chirac in a mock interview. He got stumped when the morning show people asked him to say "cheese-eating surrender monkey" in French.
He's doing a German accent now.

I was a 3-11 nurse for 15 years... Ugh what a schedule, bless your heart for doing it.
I could never be a good nurse- catheters are too disturbing.
To: 2Jedismom
Tell me about it. :)

I'm out racing rats at 0700. My cat would love to eat a rat...or a squirrel... or an ant... or a blowing leaf.

According to Babelfish, cheese-eating surrender monkey = fromage-manger le singe de reddition. However, translating that back to English gets you "cheese-to eat the monkey of rendering". Umm...OK?

My cat usually just watches them. If she wants food she just claws me in the face.
To: RosieCotton
He got as far as "fromage."
To: 2Jedismom
...now I'm up, working on the checkbook, at this ungodly hour of the morning! LOLThey make a 7:00am in OK?

One of the funniest radio skits I've heard involved someone doing a Julia Child act...it was supposedly her explaining how to prepare boxed mac & cheese. She called the cheese "powdered fromage".
