The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I've heard it. Too many times. It IS pretty, though.
Someday we're going to do some vocals...
To: RosieCotton
Record it for me in 3/4 time, would you? Just a rough draft, nothing fancy...just to give me an idea of how you do it...
I love 3/4 more than anything!

3/4 and 6/8 are my favorite time signatures, for whatever reason. I love jigs!
I'll see if I can come up with something...just guitar, probably.
BTW, the guy I sold my old mandolin to finally got it today (he's in NC), and loves it! So I can go ahead and pay the guy who's selling me the other and won't have that hanging over my head anymore. Woo-hoo!

If you guys think of it could you pray for Tami, my wife?
She's been having some pretty bad pain in her upper abdomen. She says it feels like her spleen or liver is swollen. She's also been very tired, at times her muscles would feel like they were about to give out and her gums have started bleeding when she does her teeth (which is unusual because she takes good care of her teeth).
Anyway she had a Dr.'s appt yesterday and he ordered blood work and an ultrsound STAT (that means hurry up, right 2J?). So she had her blood drawn yesterday and the ultrasound was done this morning.
She feels like it is something serious. I hope she is wrong. If she is wrong I'm banning her from visiting anymore medical related web-sites and books. She visited one website about leukemia and a lot of her symptoms matched what was on that web-site.
So please pray that we have been overreacting.
Okay, I now return you to your regularly scheduled banter.

I've heard it. Too many times. It IS pretty, though. It's pretty popular then, huh?
I heard that song at an Irish pub on Ibiza back in the '80's. When I came home I started dating the future Mrs. ksen and we went to Boston on St. Patty's Day. While there we visited The Purple Shamrock. I requested that song of the guys playing and he rolled his eyes at me and said they'd do it.

Prayers going up, ksen. Please, please keep us updated!
To: ksen
Yep. STAT means PDQ.
Has she had any other indications of bleeding? More bruises than usual? Easy bruising?

Will pray, bro.
To: 2Jedismom
I don't know if she has had other bleeding or not. I can ask her when I get home. Maybe I can get you two in chat sometime and she can tell you.
As for bruising, she does have a pretty nasty one on the front of her upper thigh. She said she walked into a drawer handle.
Would the Dr. have ordered this stuff STAT if he didn't think it was anything or to just give my wife comfort that he is taking her seriously?

So please pray that we have been overreacting. That is what I will pray for. "Lord, confirm that ksen and his wife Tami are worrying too much". Seriously ksen, I hope that is true. She shouldn't be going to those sites anyway! Please let us know if there is anything more we should worry and pray about. You know we will.
I hope that first she can find an end to that abdominal pain and other problems!

I am so tickled!
I just got an email saying that there have only been 2 winners so far (and I was the second one of those two!)
I am so smart!

I would think that with these symptoms, he wants to rule out anything more than anything else. It's good that he is doing this...sounds like a good doc...taking your wife seriously.
I wouldn't even want to begin guessing at anything because I don't know enough...but keep me posted with anything you find out (in freepmail if you prefer) and I'll try to help you with anything I can, as far as explaining what things mean and such in "easy to understand" terms.
I'd be especially interested in her lab values. Blood clotting factors like the PT and the PTT.

Am/will be praying. Is she at home now?
To: ksen
I will pray for her, Kevin. Please keep us informed of what is going on.
Big hugs for your kids too. They've got to be worried a bit that Mommy isn't feeling too well.

Ok, 2J. I'll tell her to try to remember to write down the test values and such if she gets a chance. If we asked for a copy of the test results should they give them to us?

She shouldn't be going to those sites anyway! You got that right! I always cringe when she breaks out the "Diagnose Yourself" medical book. ;^)
Thanks for praying....
