Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I saw that thread earlier. There's more over at Fark (there's a link), but it's not for the "sensitive."
To: Sam Cree
Hi Sam! Thanks for checking in with us. It sounds like you're having a great time up in the Great White North.
You're right that falling snow is beautiful. It's when you have to start shovelling the stuff that its more sinister nature emerges.
Come home to us soon and stay safe.

Sorry to go on about what is very ordinary to you, Rosie, Vim, Dawn, I am just kind of enthralled with it. No need for apologies, Sam! It's wonderful to read a description from someone who is seeing it with new eyes, so to speak!
Thanks for checking in!

Blix is speaking. Do we care? Or do we just want him to shut up so we can start the bombing?
To: Corin Stormhands
Hi, Corin. Are you guys still talking about a Mid Atlantic moot?
Was going to Manhatten for a couple days from here, which would include some time underground at Penn Station, but, at the moment, think I will skip that part of this trip, since it was just to go to the Met Museum.
To: Corin Stormhands; Sam Cree
I hope you remembered to bring a tuke(sp?).

Have you guys made a connection on the other matter?
To: Sam Cree
Are you guys still talking about a Mid Atlantic moot? We've made no definite plans. g'nad is gone until the 19th. I'm not sure when he's actually moving.
To: Corin Stormhands

I see what you mean, but it is hilarious!
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes, it's all taken care of...is that ok with you? I'll be able to drop these cookies in the mail and they should go out in about half an hour.

I was just fixin' to actually call you, since the time was drawing near to mail this or not! LOL

"Rosie, DT, and OT, if I'm not mistaken, you folks have the FotR PC game, right?"Nope, I have the PS2 version of the game. Haven't noticed any trouble with the sound.

Grrr......
Hans Blix makes me wanna puke!
To: ksen
I'm glad you brought up the differences in the Jackson and Tolkien Boromir. I've been thinking about that too. I haven't read the Fellowship in many years, but I came upon these thoughts while reading the Return of the King again the other evening - specifically, where the men of Gondor react to 'the little ones'. I think it is more of Jackson's (and the others) great incorporation of other parts of the books into the whole works -- like the character of Boromir, in order to show up close and personal the dire conditions they have lived under for a long time. Masterful! I can't wait to see the finished product.

Hey Sam! I think if anything we Northern folks take snow and winter for granted. It's easy to forget just how beautiful it is!
To: Corin Stormhands
Was interesting having dinner and pints with my two mostly-unpolitical-but-Democrat-leaning friends.
They kept asking me.... "Why in the Heck is it taking so long? - What is Bush waiting for? Bomb him already! They indicated their Democrat parents were saying the same thing.
Is Bush's strategy perhaps to go so slow that even the left is begging him to just end it? Heh.
