The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Amazon's got it on sale for $20. Plus, if you buy it before the 23rd of this month, you get a $20 rebate.

Don't...TEMPT me, Seamus!

I get so nervous whenever I see the Nazgul, I start running away! LOL!!

No wonder I keep getting caught.

I'll try it as you said and will let you know if I make it.

Yeah, did you know Saddam issued a proclamation against WMDs?

Kinda like, if he can't blow up the Brooklyn Bridge, he'll try to sell it to us...

Just take it slow, and sneak everywhere. There's no harm in sitting tight and waiting, until you learn the pattern that the Nazgul follow.

It does make your heart pound, doesn't it? Great graphics and sound quality.

Whatever you do, don't put the ring on!

It sounds complicated, but that's just because I tend to be a bit verbose. LOL

Once you're actually playing it, it takes about 3 minutes to sneak to the bridge.

Hello All.

Just checking in briefly from Syracuse, where I am visiting my daughter.

Cold here, which I am not used to, believe the low was around 5 degrees this morning. Judging by the AC unit outside my hotel window, there is about 16 or so inches of snow on the ground. Not surprising, the average yearly snowfall here is 10 feet.

The two of us went out for dinner last night, was snowing beautiful tiny snowflakes, they looked to me like tiny diamonds falling everywhere from the sky. Downtown, in the old section, with the old lamp posts and restauarants, falling snow, sidewalks deep with it, warm light spilling out from the pubs, it seemed almost Dickensian, except for cars instead of carriages. I was very excited with the whole thing.

When it snows here big dumptrucks with plows are suddenly everywhere, clearing the streets with showers of snow and sparks. Drivers are good about it, put distance between themselves and slow down. In central VA, where I grew up, when it snows, they don't handle it well, just slide into each other and have wrecks.

Not getting out out of the teens today, 9 below zero tonight. My daughter grew up in Miami, but does fine with this weather, full speed ahead, as always.

Sorry to go on about what is very ordinary to you, Rosie, Vim, Dawn, I am just kind of enthralled with it.

Happy Valentine, everyone, will check in later.

Maybe the "orange" alert and getting us to buy duct tape and plastic was part of the economic stimulus package...

Frogger is too scary and complicated for me...;-)

Does that mean I probably shouldn't even bother with the LOTR game?
