Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Scary thing is that it's supposed to get colder for the next few days. Possibly lows of -35 or so Saturday night. Ugh.

Yep. the top of a maple tree fell on the power line ripping it (and the lugs so the electrician guy said) from the box.

It's supposed to start raining here tonight and get worse over the weekend. I have plans with a neighbor to get up the branch (when I say branch it's 15-20 feet long) from last week's storm and take down a couple of other trees. Putting that off is one thing...

I just hope they don't come down on their own.

Thanks for your insights into the character of Boromir. Personally I didn't care for Tolkien's version of Boromir, but after seeing Jackson's version I like him a whole lot better. In fact he is one of my favorites now.

Rosie, DT, and OT, if I'm not mistaken, you folks have the FotR PC game, right? I got it yesterday, and noticed that at certain parts, the sound crackles out. Have either of you experienced this?

Other than the occasional crackling sound, the game is PHENOMINAL! I'm already at the Moria Gates. Aragorn got nuked by the Watcher, so I decided to take a break.

I got my nickel Walton's yesterday...that upped it to 17, after the 2 I got from Blackhawk a few days ago...a new brown Susato Dublin and a new McCollough Pigott Feadóg.
