The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

9 1/2 years?! I congratulate you! The longest stretch I've ever had in one job was 3 years. I don't know...I get bored and restless easily.
I need to stop that, though, and start thinking more about the future.

They are pretty good - white chocolate, a little milk chocolate, and pretzels!
I have no problem with a yellow-less bag of M&M's (or as Autumn calls them, "Mems" lol), I'm an equal-opportunity snacker
Yeah, having extra M&Ms on hand is a bonus! Hehe...our associate pastor made a TON of these for a high school activity a few years ago...which of course meant he had lots and lots of M&Ms left over. He bought a couple of HUGE bags from Sam's or some such. We had M&Ms available at every church supper or coffee hour for the next four or five months! ;-)

I had that happen to me when I worked for CVS/Pharmacy. Hehehe...the guy who did this where I worked was a manager. The story is that he got a list of things he was supposed to get done by a certain date.

Morning everyone!
I had to run errands this morning and just finally caught up with my work enough to pop in and set out breakfast (or elevenses depending on time zone).
Bacon, egg and cheese biscuit sandwiches; sausage links and hash browns. Coffee is fresh and hot! I brought along a few dozen doughnuts and muffins (various flavors) to munch on. I've also got a nice pot of hot cocoa with marshmellows on the stove for anyone that wants some! ENJOY!
2J - Hope you're feeling a bit better. Sorry to hear you have a cold. :(
Seamus! Congrats on finally landing a promising-sounding job. YIPPEE! Benefits are so important and theirs appear to be above par.
Now we have to concentrate on Bear and Hair. Hey, that rhymes! *silly grin*
Hair - fear not! You've got what it takes to succeed in anything you do. There are very few folks in this world that have such loyalty as you do. Not to mention, you do so much for other people that isn't asked or required from you. That shows a strength in character that is priceless! Go for it, whatever "it" is - especially if it involves sending your resume to Elijah Wood's agent to apply as his personally assistant! LOL!!Love ya sis!
Rosie - a gig is a gig! Be proud of the term! No need for quotation marks! *laughing*

You're still young. When I was your age, I think about 3 years was the longest for me too...

Jackson Was Robbed!
13/02/2003
Andy Serkis (aka The Two Towers' Gollum) last night blasted the American Academy for not nominating Peter Jackson for Best Director. 'I was terribly disappointed,' Serkis told Empire Online. 'Its ridiculous! Hes a world class filmmaker on an unprecedented scale, in terms of what hes achieved. Just watching him work every day, controlling seven units. Just controlling all that and being such a nice guy all the time
its an incredible feat. Ive never met a director like him, never.
So why did he think that Jackson was overlooked? 'I think Hollywood tends to have a problem with fantasy films and always has done. I think that this year was always going to be difficult because the Two Towers is the middle of a trilogy but I think that next year it will be rewarded.'
Speaking at the London Film Critics Circle Awards, Andy was happy however that The Two Towers made the Best Film category. 'That was the best news. That was the biggest thrill. I just think its an extraordinary piece of work and although Peter wasnt personally nominated this year, theres no doubt that next year it will come home for him.'
Is it me? Or does the wait until RoTK mantra starting to sound like a little desperation?
Well, at least Ringers will know what it's like to be Red Sox fans. "Oh yeah!?!? Well wait until next season!"

Without cheating, I got...
Samwise Gamgee. It seems you seek a devoted, kindly companion, one who knows how to build a home, and won't give up on you when the going gets tough. You may like to wonder, though, why he spends so much time away with his boss, of whom he speaks in misty-eyed, reverential tones ...

Aragorn. It seems you seek a lover who doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, a real man, strong, silent and determined. The kind of chap who can build a fire, track a man across hill and dale through darkness and survive in the wild for months at a time. Regular shaving may be beyond his reach, and you may have to make substantial concessions to secure his affection. Your dad won't be happy.
At least it's not an Elf. :)
To: Overtaxed
Well, half-Elven....
Hey, if Aragorn was Half-Elven then why couldn't he have chosen immortality instead of Arwen having to choose mortality?
Maybe the Elven blood had become too diluted by the time Aragorn was born.

What kind of half-elfed question is that?
