Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Funny you should mention that, Suzi, we actually just did a craft like that around Halloween.
We got the colored candy disks, melted them down (each color individually), cut pretzel rods into 3rds, and dipped them into the different colors. Then, once they cooled, we melted chocolate, put it in a plastic baggie, snipped off the end of the baggie, and decorated the colored pretzel rods to look like crayola crayons!

She ran over her cheating husband three times with her car. The PI she hired to spy on him caught it all on video.

What about "show"?

You know, with the current headlines, there could be a sharp rise in frog gigging.....

She ran over her cheating husband three times with her car. You had to love what the prosecutor said, "If your husband cheats on you, you take him to the cleaners, you don't kill him!"

What about "show"? Shows are what I should be doing with all of the artwork I keep saying I'm going to get done...

I had that happen to me when I worked for CVS/Pharmacy.
I was managing my first store, and had just hired a 17 year old kid to help with the early morning deliveries (usually came in around 4am).
He showed up, the delivery came, and as we're about half-way through receiving it, I had to go call one of my AM people, to see if they could come in early. I get back from the call, and the kid is no where to be seen. Vanished.
I tried calling his house, cell phone, I paged him, talked to his family...nothing. After about a week, he comes walking into the store, asking for his check for the 2 hours he worked! I asked him what had happened, and he passed it off like it was no big deal! I was livid! LOL

It's an interesting case.
There were a lot of women on that jury who I figured would go soft and apply a double standard- an "It's ok for a betrayed wife to kill the husband, but the electric chair for any guy who tries it". I guess Texan women are cut of a different cloth. Good on them, I'm impressed.

Funny you should mention that, Suzi, we actually just did a craft like that around Halloween. Another fun project we've done is making pretzel and chocolate "bacon and eggs". You need little pretzel rods, white chocolate, and yellow M&Ms...melt the white chocolate, put a blob on top of a couple mini pretzel rods, and top with an M&M or two. Looks pretty neat! Of course, you end up with a bag of yellow-less M&Ms, but those don't usually last very long anyway...

I hear you on that. I love to sculpt, but since I'm also really lazy when it comes to doing things that I don't *have* to do, I slack off big time.
It was my passion in high school and for 2 years in college. I was also heavily into puppetry, and did 2 summer internships with "Big Nazo" Puppets. But, then something tragic happened.
I realized that there was very little money to be made doing it, so I sold out to The Man, and became a tool. LOL

Ok, I'll wait for you at the house at Crickhollow (taping it up with plastic and duct tape)...

Yeah, I draw and paint (when I have the time, which is rare).
I'm stuck in the system too. I've been at this place 9 1/2 years, which is how long I've paid into the retirement system. I can retire in 10 1/2 more years.
If I don't die of boredom first.
To: RosieCotton
Oooh! That sounds good!
I have no problem with a yellow-less bag of M&M's (or as Autumn calls them, "Mems" lol), I'm an equal-opportunity snacker!
