The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

2 more inches of snow today, more snow and even colder towards the end of the week.
I've had to start wearing my hobbit snowpants (borrowed from Bombour a LOOOOONG time ago)

Yes! You are gainfully employed.
Now that's a load off my mind.
Now who else still needs a job on the thread?

We're supposed to get wiiiiiiind today. 25-35 mph. Radio said that some areas are getting gusts up to 50, couple that with a temp that's right at freezing and voila: a nice warm vacation spot for folks from up north.

I think Bear does.

Oh, I'm glad to hear about Her Majesty! Now that she's eating, I'd try a bit of yogurt again, just to re-supply her system with the acidophilus.
Also, my cat used to eat baby food when he wasn't feeling too good. Plain, meat baby food.

I didn't put any yogurt out for her this morning. She didn't seem too interested in it last night.

Did you hear about rbm on Chiff and Fipple? Bless him, he thinks he's got cancer. They are checking him today. He's like 6'2" or something and wieghs 118lb. Lost a lot of weight.
Anyway, while Jessie was drawing all that attention to herself, here's this poor fellow casually mentioning this. He's 35 years old.
Makes my disgusted with Jessie all the more.

No I didn't hear about rbm. I've been on C&F looking for more of Jessie's "cooking threads". Maybe I should get on the hot wing thread and suggest that maybe you meant to make things more painful for her. :)

Heh. Maybe I should start a "Jessie, shut up! We're sick of listening to you" thread.

Jessie would love it. I am convinced that she doesn't care what the attention is, just so she's getting it. Like a majorly spoiled child.
The minute things would start to slow down, she'd start up another thread (like the "I'm not the Devil" one)
It's a behavioral problem. Attention seeking. I wouldn't be surprised if she was also some kind of prescription drug addict.

Well, the mood has changed this morning. Someone has had a death in the family and then this guy going to the doctor...
You want me to let you know when things get stoopid again?

I was just wondering if you got my last freepmail?Yes, I got it. I'm sorry it is taking a while for me to get a response out to you. I am doing some extra reading so that I can give you a good response. I'll try to have something to you by Monday.
Thanks for checking up on me. I sure don't want our study to fall by the wayside. ;^)

Hullo!
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS TO ECURBH ON THE NEW JOB!! Yahoo! :)
Secondly, I bought some supplies last night and have them ready to pack into a box and set in my bedroom (which used to be the garage). It has no windows and the closets were built on the garage door side so they completely block the door with the exception of a 3 foot storage space we left between the actual garage door and the back wall of the closets. My PC and TV are in there, so as long as the power stays on, we're all in good shape. :)
My family is kind of laughing at me about the whole thing, but I refuse to sit around and wait until something actually does happen. So, I told everyone that it is MY responsiblity to make sure that at the very least, we have enough water and supplies for the kids. It kind of ticked me off that they were joking about this, but I guess people handle stress in different ways. Nevertheless, I called my sisters and told them our meeting place should anything happen. If anything does happen, may our Lord God forbid it, at least I took care of the details.
On to breakfast!
Pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. Hot buttered rolls and various muffins are fresh from the oven. Coffee is steaming and ready to serve! ENJOY!
