The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Excellent TEOTWAWKI story!

That one took me a minute! Read Alas Babylon in high school.

Yes, good morning!

Had a "snow squall" early this morning leaving us with a 0.25-0.5" dusting that has been packed into ice on the roads. Soooo... the ride (read that slide) in to work today was an unexpected adventure. The poor woman in front of me could hardly keep it together, sliding and fishtailing all over the place. You'd think after a few hard brakes and a few fast accelerations she'd make the connection and ease up. People shouldn't cause their guardian angels so much stress!

As someone who is employed by two felines, I found this thread to be hilarious- although I can't let on at home how funny it is...

PO'd kitty:

No. She's never been too interested in bacon. Beef, fish, rice, and (believe it or not) even yellow squash. Oh yeah....and left-over cereal milk.

Hmmm...one of mine loves squash, too! I've never been able to figure that out. He goes nuts whenever I prepare it...have to keep shooing him away. He also likes roasted chestnuts. Huh?

Good Morning! She's interested in tuna everytime I open the can. Of course, it has to be chunck light (not albacore) with salt and in water. With everything else, she's only interested in it some times.

Some of mine are more finicky than others. Probably because two of them were "only children" for so long. None of them would turn up their nose at tuna, albacore included!

Did I mention Tam likes seaweed?

I don't think my kitty has ever encountered seaweed.

I use some once in awhile in soup - especially good in lentil soup. I suppose he likes it because it has sort of a fishy smell? Dunno.

Meow! I think Kitty is feeling better now. She's been eating and keeping it down.

It's clear here this morning. Weather goobers are talkin' ice storms for Saturday. I need it to stay clear so I can get up the debris from the last storm...

For which I'm sure she'd be grateful if she knew...;-)

Heheh...I'm sure. I think she was waiting for me to corner her pet piller in hand for the past two days.
