Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Yeah, but I made my phone calls. Did my official stuff. And now I'm emailing and checking out HH.
How are you? Kitty okay now?

I just finished updating the
humor page on my site. If you have anything else that would be good to add here, let me know.

Just heated up some Balrog wings. Kitty seems to be doing better. At least she's eating. Found a "mess" to clean up when I came home.

(so where's the chicken thread?)
To: ecurbh
I like the humor page. I was humored.

I'm glad kitty's feeling better. Hope you're enjoying your balrog wings. The thing about me being off work is... I like to cook and eat too much. Today I made home-made broccoli cheese soup and homemade bread. Yesterday it was burgers and leftover taquitos. and a bunch of snack type things. Tomorrow, I'm having a friend over for lunch and to watch videos. So, I'll be loading up on front-of-the-TV type munchies. Food intake maintenance is not my strong suit during times spent at home.

Wonderful ecurbh! - All my favorites are there!

One other thing that was funny, though maybe was more funny before the film actually came out was this:
Script for LoTR: The Two Towers!*
You can use that formatting and source code if you want to use it, or I could email the Word Doc.

Food intake maintenance is not my strong suit during times spent at home. Aint that the truth! I finished the hot wings and I'm running out of blue cheese dipping sauce. Now I'm having some sensible vegetables....and I want chocolate soooo bad!
Kitty ate some more (good!) and looks like she's curled up sleeping for a while. Poor thing didn't eat much yesterday or this morning.

I'm running out of blue cheese dipping sauceYUM. You know, I broke down and bought myself some blue cheese yesterday. I love the stuff. But, Myranda doesn't. So, I never ever buy it. But, I'm always buying her special stuff that she likes and I don't... ??? Yesterday, I splurged. And really pigged out.
Tomorrow this lady coming over is someone that I only recently met. We seem to have a lot in common. She is married and has 6 kids though. She is looking forward to doing something out and away from her kids. We're having HOT snacks. Meaning spicy food. She says her kids don't like hot stuff so she and her hubby always have mild. I remember when mine were like that. Now, Myranda gets stuff as hot or hotter than me. So, we're munching on spice and watching videos... maybe having cookies, haven't decided about that yet. But, there will be no healthy stuff on the menu. That's for later... after I've splurged on my time off.
To: HairOfTheDog
That would be great if you could email it. Thanks!

Sounds like a plan. Anyway....cayenne pepper is good for you!
To: Overtaxed
cayenne pepper is good for youYeah, in all kinds of ways. Anti-oxidants you know. Matter of fact, the more I study on nutrition, the more I find that the exact foods I like fit the category!
Last weekend at Sam's they were doing this demo of smoked link sausage. The sausage was so-so. But it was being dipped in this awesome mustard. Clear you sinuses kind of stuff. We loved it. so we're having mustard and stuff to dip in it among other stuff tomorrow. Homemade bean dip too. Chips. Salsa. (taquitos are all gone) I was thinking about making a cheesecake... but, I came up here instead. My jeans will thank me next week.
To: Wneighbor
Anti-oxidants....chocolate....good....
To: Overtaxed
so why was it you were avoiding chocolate right now? You noticed I had healthy food for lunch. Broccoli cheese soup. There was fresh broccoli in there. And a fresh carrot. and garlic. garlic is healthy. along with 2 sticks of margerine, bacon, ham, heavy cream, milk and 2 kinds of cheese.
To: Wneighbor
I could do without the butter fat. I found a Rocky Road candy recipe that I want to try but you have to let it set for 2 hours!
To: ecurbh
You want it as html coding or pretty? Are you thinking making a page or just uploading it as a doc?
To: Overtaxed
but you have to let it set for 2 hours! see, my problem is that i'm an instant gratification type woman. If I have to wait on it.... I might not want it when it's done. Know what I mean? That's why homemade cheesecake has only actually really happened one time in my house. But, I have lots of quickie short-cut substitutes. :-)
To: Wneighbor
Hmmm....a 12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips would be good about now. :)
