Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

...though usually I'm also a bit ticked because people usually think I'm wayyy younger than I am. Yeah, I have that problem too...
To: ecurbh
Hmm...airline industry? Is that a good thing or a bad thing I wonder? I guess they've drawn down about as much as they ever will, right?
To: RosieCotton
In fact they said they have continued to grow even after 9-11, because the proportion of people buying their tickets online has been increasing rapidly.

"Hmm...airline industry? Is that a good thing or a bad thing I wonder?"Yeah, but if you work for an airline don't you get discounts on tickets? :-D

He was firey hot to the touch. I took his temp and it was 104!I hate when that happens. It is kind of disconcerting how the little ones can get such high temps so quickly. Did he give you any indication yesterday that something was up?
I hope the little guy is feeling better today.

Good luck! - And good morning!

He's feeling fine (still sick and stuffy, but no temp) this morning.
I had a suspicion that not all was going well when I got him out of the bathtub and he was shivering HARD. I wrapped him up and he felt warm (not hot) and the water was warm and the house was warm...so his shivering wasn't right. So I was prepared for it.
He has a doctor's appt at 2:45pm...

Hello!!
Sorry I couldn't make it by this weekend, I was busy running around getting things done! Alyson is cutting her 2 top teeth and was pretty miserable. She wasn't sleeping well, so neither was I! She finally slept through last night and this morning one of the teeth has broken through! Hooray!
It took me a while to catch up on all of the posts I missed. You have been a chatsy bunch while I've been away. *grin* I'll comment on them, but first...
Let me get some breakfast out for you all.
Buttermilk biscuits with sausage gravy, platters of nice, crispy bacon, hash browns and a lovely batch of ham and cheese omelets! Coffee is ready! ENJOY!
All-Star! Hi there! Welcome! I'm so happy to see that you are finally freed from the oppression of Gondor. *laughing out loud here* I look forward to seeing you in here often. :)
ecurbh, Dawntreader and RWRF - AWESOME PICS! It's so cool to have faces to names, isn't it? I can hardly wait for the ENTMOOT, it's going to be so much fun! Nice to see you all had such a good time and that Mrs. RWRF saw that this group is made up of fine and estimable folks.
g'nad - I love your pics too. That's a great camera. I want a digital camera so bad, but it will have to wait until later this year. I never realized that you had a daughter named Rebecca too! You may have told me before and I just forgot, but she's so lovely I'm certain I won't forget again.
2J - Is Josh better this morning? Fevers scare me something terrible since a few years back, one of Glen's co-workers lost his 6 year old son to a fever. It spiked up so fast that by the time they got him to the hospital, he was having seizures. The boy never recovered consciousness. I have been freaked out ever since and become a wreck when I read anything over 101 on the thermometer for my kids.
Corin - good luck on your webpage, Master Dwarf! Can you believe what RWRF said about being "elfy"!!! I'm about to switch to a lady Dwarf just to keep up the Dwarvish presence in the Hole!
ecurbh - good luck on your interview! I went to your webpage and it looks great. I also added the pic link to my profile. Thanks for providing it!
