Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

"Looking over some of the stuff about the Columbia disaster and feeling guilty about complaining."It's ok...nothing to feel guilty about. You can still feel for them yet still have a crappy day. That's life.
And try not to stress out about the job too much (so much easier said than done). As they get to know you more they'll see you know exactly what you are doing. Systems are like that...ours goes down pretty frequently. Hang in there!

You can always blame it on Bill Gates. :)

But, the day is so fake. Exactly. It's torture to find the right card. And I've even had her say to me "do you really mean it?"
I think your idea is good. Maybe I'll see when her sister can keep the boys...

Just remind her it's racing at Daytona weekend.....that'll work! GMTA
from the woman who once thought a guy was the greatest thing around because he promised to take her to Daytona Race week for a honeymoon.

It's torture to find the right card. And I've even had her say to me "do you really mean it?" sorry, I have to chuckle over you card ordeal. Myranda's dad was always buying me those sappy really really serious cards. And I'm a funny card sort of woman. The harder it makes me laugh and the longer I smile and chuckle the better that card is..... So, he got funny cards from me. He wanted serious cards. He always thought I didn't have feelings because I gave funny cards. I always thought he was didn't care enough to find me a funny card because he got me serious cards.
can we see a definition of lack of communication here?

Just think of all the chocolate that goes on sale on the 15th.
To: Wneighbor
sorry, I have to chuckle over you card ordeal. It makes it worse that Mrs. Stormhands doesn't like the cards that rhyme.

You know Steve has this thing with the computer being on? Well, ever since I downloaded the Norton antivirus software, booting up my computer takes FOR EV ER. So I have been leaving it on. I haven't been at it when Steve was home, but just left it on in our spare room.
So last night, Steve comes in and is all sour. Says to me "Are you never going to turn that thing off? It's bothering me." I tried to explain to him the problem which was rediculous because he could care less. So I stopped in mid-sentence and said "Ok...I'll turn it off."
I turned it off.
Then he goes and takes his shower. Comes in the living room and switches on the TV. I said "Could you turn that thing off? It's bothering me."
Ah the sweet sound of absolute silence.

Good morning Vim!
I think your wife is perfectly normal! - And luckily, she loves you anyway!

Just think of all the chocolate that goes on sale on the 15th. AMEN. I always restock my Reeses stash the day after Valentines, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and all other times when they see fit to use special packaging so it needs to be sold cheap the day after.
To: Wneighbor
And those conversation hearts? Oh my! I still have bags of them in my freezer from last year! LOL

Discount antioxidants. Yep! Gotta have those antioxidants.
To: Corin Stormhands
"Not yet. This morning I just acted like nothing happened."Probably the best move. Hang in there!
To: Corin Stormhands; g'nad
Mrs. Stormhands doesn't like the cards that rhyme ... that rhyme, they come in rhymes? Talk to g'nad. Get him to write you a special verse. Then find a blank card and write it on the card yourself.
g'nad - Corin needs you.
To: rightwingreligiousfanatic
I don't have a bad impression of her. She seems cautious is all. And there's nothing wrong with that! I'm glad she'll be joining you!
To: HairOfTheDog
Off to the doc! See you later!

You know Steve has this thing with the computer being onwhat if you just turned the monitor off. would he notice that the rest of it was still on? if so, throw a dish towel over whatever indicator light is on that's telling him it's on.

"Could you turn that thing off? It's bothering me." Oh dear!
