The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I'm more worried about payment, I guess...if I post on one of the mandolin lists / sites I'm on, I'm more likely to at least know the person's name.
But I guess those are the same people who tend to check eBay all the time, now that I think about it. The music world really is rather small, isn't it?
Hm...well, I'd have to get some pictures, I guess. I can think about it, for sure! Auctions are usually what, five days?

I think reserve auctions cost more than non-reserve...but I think you get more than one chance to post the auction, too; i.e. if your reserve isn't met, you can renew the auction one more time without having to pay for the second auction. Can't remember. I've sold things on eBay, but it's been years...

I think so yes...5 or 7 days.
I would put the payment option down as "Money Order or Personel check...will wait till check clears before sending"...then you will have the money in your hot little hand before you pass it off to someone you don't know.
I don't know about Paypal...I use it all the time for little stuff. You could ask on C&F...make a new topic, like "OT: Questions about selling on Ebay" They do it all the time and they'd help.
Or you could do the same thing on your Mandolin board...and may sell it before you even get a chance to post the auction.
Have the ammount you want firm in your mind though!

But, I just like 'em to go away. Nice and neat. Same here. Best thing is, she's really bad about remembering things. Give it enough time she will literally forget it.

But yeah...the words "six month probation" were running through my head a lot last night!I was afraid of that. As a former trainer of new employees... those days are expected and actually a good part of the learning curve.

D is probably the best option. He might get in series trouble A through C!

Rosie!! My day was very similar! My computer crashed 4 times, the one I used upstairs froze up 3, none of my printers would work, even when I rebuilt them and restarted my computer. I was muttering not so nice words under my breath and close to frustrated tears all day.
Here's hoping today isn't like yesterday!!

'spose to snow here too, starting this afternoon, I think. Bummer...that'll pretty much blow our observatory trip tomorrow evening.
I'm going in about a half hour to take Matthew in for his yearly phsyical. I also have to get a check-up...see how my iron levels are. I've been off my iron supplement for several months now. Heartbeat has been pretty regular since I had that last spell back over the thanksgiving holiday.

I should have KNOWN it was time to go home when I went to use the ATM machine during lunch, and the system went down after I put in my card....

I don't know about Paypal...I use it all the time for little stuff. I've never had a problem wiht Paypal, but then again the biggest transaction I've had there was only about $20.

she's really bad about remembering things. Give it enough time she will literally forget itThat's really good ... as long as she doesn't remember again in 3 months... and again in 5 months. ... and again in 9 months... etc. and bring it up like that. In working with women at church in marriages... seems like that's more of a problem. I bet one or 2 guys here will chime in on that one too.

she's really bad about remembering things. Give it enough time she will literally forget itI liked C though. Although I am not a whistler, that was my favorite.
To: Wneighbor
Yeah...C won't work right unless the receiving party is a whistler.
To: Wneighbor
That's really good ... as long as she doesn't remember again in 3 months... and again in 5 months. ... and again in 9 months... She won't remember specific incidents. But I'm due for "we have to talk..."
And, Valentine's Day is next week. A whole new opportunity for me to screw up!
To: Wneighbor
I really botched that up. wrong copy. forgiveness?????
To: Overtaxed
Yeah, c would work. I like it. other meanings abound there.
To: Corin Stormhands
And, Valentine's Day is next week. A whole new opportunity for me to screw up! I hate Valentine's Day. Of course you ought to not listen to me for normal woman stuff. But, I don't like all that candy flowers stuff. (oh, i like candy and i like flowers) But, the day is so fake. I always liked better for a guy to set aside some nice quiet one-on-one time. (well, my favorite husband knew a camping trip or fishing was excellent for the day)
But seriously, maybe if you think you're due for that "we have to talk" thing. then you could beat her to the punch if you get my drift. Plan some time one-on-one.
Oh God. Don't listen to me. I suck at relationships.
To: 2Jedismom
Sad to miss the observatory. And ya'll already had some snow didn't you? So, that's not novel.
Hope all is well at the physicians.

Valentine's Day is next week. A whole new opportunity for me to screw up!Just remind her it's racing at Daytona weekend.....that'll work!
