The Hobbit Hole III - Journey to the Cross-roads!

Posted on 12/17/2002 7:32:02 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Journey to the Cross-roads

The Two Towers Edition

Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)

Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

I ran out of my Aldis coffee...was standing in the kitchen pretend crying. Matthew came in and said "Get ahold of yourself, Toots!" (I have no idea where that came from!)

LOL! Kids are the greatest, no?

Aldis is good, then? I had Cool Beans!

Good morning! It's a cold morning here, but the sun is shining very bright.

Waiting for the coffee to give me enough for a cup!

His son.

Oh, OK. Hm...I've never seen him. Does he sound like his Dad?

Have you seen the extended edition, Sam? Bilbo's ears twitch when the Sackville-Bagginses approach!

I like Aldi's brand about as much...actually a little more, than Folgers...just a plain morning coffee, you know? But it only costs $3.29 for 39oz.

Grinding coffee is too jarring for it to be routine around here...and besides, I can barely figure out the switch on the coffee pot this early...

was checking for condition, not tidiness. If that makes you feel better.

Not really, but I'll get over it eventually. ;)

Thanks for all the advice. I'll definitely put a reserve on the violin. I have a PayPal account, but every now and then I hear rumors that there is something wrong with it.

Rosie has made me feel a bit guilty about ditching the violin. My daughter and wife took lessons together a couple years ago. We bought my daughter this violin, and my wife has one on loan from our church. Needless to say, Elizabeth has stopped playing. It's too bad because she was actually pretty good.

Now that Dad(Rosie) has chimed in, I may see if my son wants to take it up.......but we could really use the cash. What a dilemma......

I've never seen that brand up here. I've been buying bean coffee mostly, though. Someone gave me three pounds, which will last me for awhile! Then I also got a one pound bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee (which I LOVE) for $4 - on special.

I DO make sure I grind the coffee the night before. That way I just have to flip a switch in the morning. I can handle that!

Well...if you decide for certain that you want to sell it, let me know the details. I'm not on any violin lists, unfortunately, but I can see what I can do to drum up business. And I'd like to know the details just out of curiousity, too.

But it IS a great instrument. I need to spend more time with mine.

And if he didn't go flitting, skipping and chirping around the house non stop. And he then makes catty little feminine digs at my wife whenever he can think of one.

You have been invaded by an interior decorator?

Hullo! - Good Morning!

Ok you guys. Who has been over to the keyword thread?

There are no less than eight references to Lord of the Rings in the keywords over there......one is even "Hobbit Hole"!

*looks left* *looks right* ok so now there are ten LOTR references (Samwise Gamgkey and Lord of the Keywords) ;^)
