Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Me too! Or cake. They just eat about an inch below the frosting! I would be better served making cakes in a jelly roll pan!

Morning! Glad you had a restful night. My cats kept waking me up last night so I'm not as fortunate!

My youngest just came in all excited. Apparently their remote control Buzz Lightyear on wheels moved and it scooted a bit in the kitchen on it's own...nobody was touching the remote. Josh just tore in here shouting "Buzz Light is alive!!!" (He calls him Buzz light, which I think is very funny.)

Now he just came and told me the laundry that I have piled up in the chair smells great! LOL (Bounce sheets, you know.) Then he dashed out of here saying "Can't talk now, gotta sniff the laundry!"
ROFLOL!! I get such a kick out of these guys...

I guess I'm lucky. My cats are lazy bums...they generall just move over when I get up, and certainly don't wake me up at night!
Though it hasn't always been this way. When the Siamese (Tam) was a baby, I finally ended up locking him up at night. It was the only way I could get ANY sleep. He was a BAAAAAAD kitten.

LOL! Kids are great...they say the funniest things. I REALLY hate that my 2 little nephews are out in Oregon :-( I wish I could be around them more as they are growing up!

I know! Just like when I take the clothes out of the dryer, I have to be sneaky. If Becky spots me she will wait until I have dumped them on the bed and then she dives in to the pile and says "It's so cozy!"

If I lock her out she bangs on the door and that keeps me awake.

My cat that I had in my early 20s used to make a nest in my hair at night...while I slept. I'd wake up with my hair all boufanted out (it went down to my waist, normally) and took conditioner to straighten it out!
He grew out of the habit, though.

Maybe that's what some of the problem is. My 2 cats still aren't even a year old yet. They are still frisky little things. They don't wake me up every night, but sometimes it will happen.
I almost had a heart attack this morning. I was trying to wake up and I noticed my printer was halfway off of the top shelf of my desk. My cats have never bothered it before, but there was Zoe, standing up on my desk chair pawing at it. Yikes!

That's funny 2J!! My cat Zoe likes to knead my hair, right on the top of my head. She doesn't sleep there though. She cuddles with me for a while, then goes to sleep on my office chair, which apparently is more comfy than my bed LOL. I actually don't know where Gidget sleeps..sometimes I'll wake up with her in the crook of my bent legs :-)
I tossed them out one night because I was so mad at them, but they have their claws and I heard them picking at the carpet :-O So I have to just deal with it if they are frisky at night.

It's so nice to hear young ladies saying such things...you just don't hear many young ladies who will openly say how much they like kids, nowadays, except here on FR, of course.

I have a question......when it's fund raising time here I've noticed that the 2nd post to a new thread is a fund raising ad. Is that an automatic thing? Or does someone sit there and keep a look out for new threads?

When Matthew (my oldest) was only 2 years old I used to keep a bag of chocolate kisses on top of my computer monitor. One day I was in the living room and I heard this terrific crash...I ran in where the computer was and found Matthew sitting on the floor, under the broken computer table, eating chocolate kisses. The monitor was dangling by it's electric cord directly over his head, caught by the remnants of the back of the desk.
To: Dawntreader
The glass screen of the computer was directly over his head.
To: 2Jedismom
You should see me when anyone brings a baby in here. I hog them the whole time and people practically have to pry them out of my arms!
Of course, hearing my co-worker's detailed and unsolicited explanations of all her check-ups and what's going on, I'm a bit freaked out about being pregnant now! LOL
To: Overtaxed
If I lock her out she bangs on the door and that keeps me awake.Yeah, he did that, too...I ended up crating him at night. Sounds really, really cruel, I know! But it was that or I'd have strangled him while sleepwalking at some point...
He calmed down (finally!) when I got the next cat, as they would play together during the day. Now she's matured and gets mad if he chases her, but he's still the same old loopy "kitten". Luckily the dog likes playing with him, and they tire each other out!
