Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Good morning Ruthy! I'm ready for coffee! Pancakes and syrup and hashbrowns and meat! then some biscuits to sop the leavin's. And with that, I'm off to class to enjoy my cyber-breakfast.
Hopefully, I can give the studentses and assignment and talk to ya'll.
Doubtful. I thought that yesterday too.

I was doing some whistling last night too. Gave my low G a rest and got better acquainted with my D Meg.

Good morning various and sundry Hobbit lasses, Elf Maidens, and shield maidens.
Oh, I cannibalized a DVD drive from a computer and put it in mine at home. I have everything plugged in (whether they are plugged in correctly is another story), now I just need to know what to do next.
I turned the computer on hoping that Windows would recognize something had been added and prompt me to do the right things to get it up and going, of course it didn't. I guess I need to know how to assign it a drive letter and then I need to get online and find the correct driver for it (it is a Hitachi GD-5000(?)).
Any help would be appreciated.

No packages except for my new speakers. Think I'll watch FOTR tomorrow night with the woofer at full volume. :)

Are you sure you've got the ribbon cable hooked up to the IDE thingy correctly? The 'puter should have seen something!
To: Overtaxed
I'm not sure. I used the same ribbon cable that is hooked up to the CD drive. Should I have used a seperate ribbon cable for the DVD?

The cable should work ...is it seated firmly at both ends?

Think I'll watch FOTR tomorrow night with the woofer at full volume. :)It'll be like watching it in the theatre again! ;^)
I was using the computer that I cannibalized for awhile until its freezing up all the time drove me nearly insane. Anyway, the DVD worked on there and I watched the extended version on it with good speakers cranked up, it was great! ;^)

Is anybody available for phone technical support later tonight?

Good morning! I had a marvelous SLEEP!! I went to bed at 10:30pm and the boys let me sleep until 9am!! I don't even know when Steve came to bed, or even when he left for work...I only know he was home because he came in right before I went to bed. Last thing I remember he was pouring a bowl of cereal in the kitchen and I could hear it being poured.
Wow, what a long solid sleep! I feel great!
To: RMDupree
My package should come today...I'll check after lunch.

Think I'll watch FOTR tomorrow night with the woofer at full volume. :)This sounds wonderful! And if I were there, nobody would be gesturing wildly and telling me to "Turn the TV DOWN!!"

Wow, what a long solid sleep! I feel great! And you haven't had your coffee yet!
To: Overtaxed
I know!! I'm just finishing my first cup...brb, going for the second.
You're gonna have to peel me from the ceiling. I think I'll clean the house since I have all this energy. Steve doesn't have school tonight and he'd be happy to come home to a nice house and a good supper. He hasn't seen the kids since Sunday night because he's in school till after they go to bed. Be nice if all he had to do was come in and visit with them.
Did I tell you we saw X-Men? The boys loved it...I really liked it. I want to see the second one!
To: 2Jedismom
I have sleep envy! LOL!
Honestly, there is nothing better than a long, uninterrupted good night's sleep to recharge the mind and rejuvenate the body!
Alyson is getting better and better. She woke up only once last night (at 3AM) after falling asleep at 6:45PM. She woke up for good at 7:45AM. Not too shabby.
Now, if I could just convince Glen to do a night shift once in a while.....hmmmm.....

I am eating some cinnamon rolls right now...got them at Walmart yesterday. Checked them out through their self-checkout line...I love it, even less contact with other humans! LOL (I'm teasing...two very nice workers came over and showed me how to operate the thing, very cheerful and encouraging.)
Anyway, I only had two and they were for Steve's breakfast, except that I went to sleep and forgot to tell them they were in the microwave. So they were still there when I got up and I fed them to the boys.
Well, just as I expected, they both ate half of theirs each...the top half, you know...with all the frosting? So I got almost a whole cinnamon roll, albeit frostingless.

Now I'm balancing the checkbook...when is the last day of the month? Today or tomorrow?
Steve get's paid on the last day of the month...
To: 2Jedismom
That happens to me with cupcakes! LOL!
