Needless to say, Tolkien must have quickly seen the futility of pointing out to her or the artist that there were, as far as he knew, no two- or three-headed dragons in his Middle-earth.
A sad commentary on the state of American publishing, and a reminder of the efficacy of the saying "never judge a book by its cover".
