Perhaps a general war between the Western world and Islam is inevitable. It is obvious that a serious percentage of Muslims, most notably those who follow Osama Bin Laden, feel so. And they are courting such war with glee. Thus, despite efforts by the Bush administration and others aimed at convincing Americans that Islam is a peaceful religion, many, if not most, Americans are unconvinced and hostile - and are rapidly becoming more so. And, if the news is any indication, this is going to get worse, not better, in the future. The administration's rhetoric to one side, all Americans see is an unending litany of terrorist acts all over the world –and all committed by Muslims.

In the days prior to Sept. 11, 2001, most Americans were unaware that Muslim terrorism is a worldwide problem. That has now changed. Just as Pearl Harbor opened American eyes to the dangers of Imperial Japan, Americans now see that Muslims are actively engaged in terrorist actions against the governments of almost every non-Muslim government in the world – and in many Muslim states as well.

Attempts to justify such acts, either by pointing to a perceived failure of America to treat Muslims “fairly”, the U.S. support of Israel, the presence of U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia now ring hollow to the majority of Americans. They can see, indeed Muslims have told them, that their one great crime is simply that we have failed to become Muslims. It is no exaggeration to say that a large percentage of Americans -- rapidly becoming the majority-- are now convinced that Muslims mean exactly what they say when they say their goal is to convert the population of the entire planet to Islam - or kill them trying.

By this reasoning, a reconquista of the US Southwest is essentially defensive.

No, the relevant issue is that Christendom has marginalized and suppressed the violent elements it once harbored, while Islam has yet to emulate that progress.

Excellent article. There is also a link to the author with other articles. I read the one about the decline of England. It is amazing how accurately this author portrays what is happening in the UK. He explains how the left wing, with the help of anti-western immigrants, is systematically dismantling their society.

In any event, it is painfully obvious that the left wing and all of its allies (criminals, tyrants, anti-western freedom haters, etc) are working to systematically destroy western civilization. I believe that judgement day will be upon us soon -- and I'm not referring to this in any biblical sense. There will come a time when either they are dragging us into the streets, or we are dragging them. Don't let them take your guns.

EGGSACTLY! And when political correctness is deposited in the wastecan, where it belongs, America will begin to recover from the vulnerability chasm opened by liberalism. If one wants to speak out against homosexual programs to inculcate our young, by damn they will do it. When one want to speak out against infanticide rampant in a nation which professes the right to life and liberty, they will do it. When PC is buried, the dissonance will settle more quickly and the voting populace will be made aware of the heinous trashing of our culture, and, hopefully, vote accordingly! Perhaps that is what we saw in its infancy in the 2002 election cycle.

Wrong. The Mexican-American War was initiated by the Mexicans after the Texans started getting fed up with the Mexican government reneging on their promises. They made the mistake of firing at our soldiers, and we kicked their ass.

Americans are increasingly unwilling to extend to Islam the same tolerance they extend to the vast majority of religions, cults or schools of philosophy. Instead, because of its own actions, Americans have been forced to conclude that Islam is a virulent and voracious sub-cultural of humanity that spawns violence everywhere it goes.

Meanwhile the American left is becoming less tolerant of Christianity than they are of Islam.

Is this correct? I read somewhere else that islam means "to submit".

Answered my own question....

First, let’s start with the impression that the word “Islam” means “peace.” A little research quickly uncovers this is incorrect. The translated Arabic word ‘Islam’ means `submission' or ‘surrender’. The Arabic word ‘salaam’, a close linguistic cousin to the Hebrew ‘shalom” means peace
