Well, actually I was joking and enjoying the reaction of those "cultured" southerners who betrayed their culture.

As far as I know, there were many contributors to Southern culture, which certainly inlcuded the Celtic, but many others, including much British influence. But then, one cannot ignore the infuence of the Spanish throughout much of the deep south and southwest, Cajun culture is Arcadian French, of all things, and African and Ameircan Indan influences are not exactly minor, as well as ....

(Sorry I do not refer to the Indians as "native Americans." Everyone born in this country is a Native American.)

Even an ignorant Yankee knows something of the rich Southern heritage.
