sorry, i forgot to ping you on my question...

i have a question for homeschoolers using SAXON Math... i want to purchase the Math 1 homeschool kit; however, they recommend an additional separate purchase of manipulatives... can anybody tell me what the manipulatives are? there is no description in the catalog, and for all i know, i may already own something similar--as i have way too many manipulatives as it is...

Manipulatives is just a fancy word for things used to count with, or shapes used for teaching geometry.....that sort of thing.......

For some kids, the "cube" manipulatives can be very enlightening...... showing how all those tiny cubes fit together to form a larger cube...... you can buy single items like that at any teacher store though..... I never bought a full set.....just smaller things that I found to be more helpful..........
